Good premiere. I liked Rick being cold to Lori. He needs time to deal with what she did and her reaction when he told her that he murdered Shane last season pissed me off too. Carl being given more responsibility was nice to see. Looking forward to seeing all the new characters next week.

Absolutely loved the first episode. Everything about it was pretty awesome. I have a minor grip here or there but nothing significant.
I absolutely LOVE the fact that they let Maggie actually fight with the guys. She's a total badass.

The Hershel situation is something I thought about before, you know, when I was imagining what I'd do in a zombie apocalypse. If I got bit on the hand, I'd like to think I'd be able to to chop the fucker off quick enough to save myself but I dunno if that would even work. I hope it does, but fuck being one-legged in that world.
The episode has me intrigued though.
One major gripe is the length. I made it out to be just over 40 minutes, maybe 42 max. I'm sure the last season had 50+ minute episodes, though maybe I'm confusing it with Game of Thrones.

I thought if you died you turn probably missed on the other ways.
Striker, Hit Girl would eaither barricade herself in a liquor store or yeah be badass as Maggie is now.
Zombies feel like Left 4 Dead and Dead Island ones. I like how they have tougher ones buy they are acually just normal ones who died doing their jobs. Hopefully we see some firefighter zombies. Maybe even a big roided up wrestler zombie

You must be thinking GOT, as Walking Dead is cable netwrok and network 1 hr shows tend to be 43-45 minutes, where as pay cable tends to be closer to the 50m minute mark
I'd like to see some winter flashbacks, like how'd they build suppresors for their guns?
