It's not the fact alone that they changed it which causes me to have a problem with it. I wish they had been more true to the GN but I would have been okay with a different story if it was a quality story with solid writing; which it is not. My main complaint has never been the differences themselves. It's the bad writing.

Re: The Walking Dead Season 3 discussion thread

That was the point I was trying to make too. If they had maintained something near the level of the original, but still told a different story, I would have loved it. I actually liked the idea of going in a different direction to keep fans of the comics, like me, in the dark as to what happens as anyone else. But Kirkman and Co. haven't been able to do that, which makes the huge deviations from the comic seem unnecessary right now.

The writing crew seem to be having some issues amongst themselves too. Darabont already left and I think Glen Mazarra is leaving after this season is done. Just my opinion, but they seem to have some serious creative differences on that team.

Ulfric Stormcloak; not a racist, not a megalomaniac, not a savage, but a hero with heart & ambition.

All hail to Ulfric you are the High King
In your great honor we drink and we sing
We're the children of Skyrim and we fight all our lives
And when Sovngarde beckons everyone of us dies

We drink to our youth to the days come and gone
For the age of oppression is now nearly done

The kid from Toy Story could have been modeled on Carl.

Negan and The Saviors say hello.

Kirkman has expressed interest in bringing him into the show. Not only that Mazarra left do to creative differences, apparently he wanted Woodbury-Prison arc to continue into season 4... but it seems as its going to end in the season 3 finale. If the reports are true, that could be why he left.

Anyway, The Saviors or The Hunters can easily fill the void for season 4.

Re: The Walking Dead Season 3 discussion thread

I agree with Mazarra. Season 3 should have been all about the Governor's slow decent into insanity and being corrupted by power. Then season 4 should have been about the group trying to survive against him.
