I guess they could've stretched it out another season before it felt contrived. althouh framing Doakes as the BHB was actually a good way to close out that season. there was really no way too keep that storyline going for 5-7 seasons.
I don't think they would have made him chase Dexter every season, just like how Quinn was suspicious for a while but itsn't anymore. They probably would have made Doakes lay off Dexter for a while then his suspicioins resurface later. But that's just what I think.

Oh man, Deb crying is usually a little awkward, but this time, I don't know,
it was some intense shit, really good.

The bullet thing is too obvious to just not mention it or look after it,
I think they gonna show us a little crime scene tutorial next time how they managed
to let it look "normal". But we'll see.

Sad that the hot Russian stripper is gone, but oh well.

Glad that LaGuerta is gone, it's really about time. Wonder if somehow Mathews will come back, now that she's out of the way.

Call Kenny Loggins. Cause you're in the Danger Zone.

Re: Dexter Season 7 (spoilers)

I was watching the Jennifer Lynch movie " Chained" over the weekend and Vincent D'Onofrio played a frightenly brilliant serial killer. I was thinking that he'd make a great antagonist for Dexter: season 8.

As for season 7, I loved it for the most part. It seemed alot more focused than last season and the way the left the cliffhanger sets up some interesting possibilities for Dexter and Deb's relationship. Dexter has been wavering from Harry's code in this season more than ever, and you just know that this story is not ending well.

the Isaak character was terrific, great actor. He reminded me of Gerald Butler's character in Law Abiding Citizen, a brutal yet honest man out for vengeance. Not sure if they killed him off an episode too soon, but he added alot.

Not a fan of Hannah. Seems like they hotshotted and poorly developed Dexter's relationship with her. Dexter had much more time to develope his relationship with Rita yet he wouldn't kill Paul because of his code, but he would kill Hannah's Father who was technically innocent. One moment he's ready to kill Hannah then f**** her on his killing table out of the blue. She's smoking hot and all, but I don't ger Dex's infatuation with her. She's no different from Lila in season 2 when you really think about it

I believe Hannah is a lot different than Lila and Dexter explained that earlier in the season.

Lila was infatuated by Dexter's "Dark Passenger" and became obsessed with him after learning about it.

Hannah, on the other hand, accepted him as if it was just another personality trait. Her belief is that sometimes people just have to die so she understood why people like Dexter existed and didn't glorify it like Lila.

Even Lumin could never truely understand Dexter as well as Hannah does.

I have a feeling Hannah will be more than just a quick throw away character in the final season and think she will have something to do with his ultimate downfall.

Fair assessement.

I haven't watched season 2 in years, but I do recall Dexter saying something along the lines that Lila was the only person that truly understood and accepted him as he was, that is until she showed her batshit crazy side in the second half of that season. The big difference as you pointed out was that Lila didn't know the specific details of Dex's dark passenger up until the very end, she also had more of an infatuation with Dexter but that only became apparent later on. In the first half of that season, she helped Dexter come to terms with his dark thoughts and confront them head on. She was very stoic at that point much like Hannah, and much like Hannah she tried taking out someone close to Dexter in hopes to protect her relationship with him.

I'm fairly confident that Hannah will take the Lila route of obsession in season 8, that's the direction it seems to be headed. Ether out of spite or genuine love for Dexter, I have a feeling that she'll be a hazard to Deb and it'll culminate in Dexter having to kill her.

The season went downhill the moment they turned Isaak into a pussy who needed Dexter's help.

Nah, Hannah's going to come after Dexter next, he tried to get her locked up in prison, and she knows he doesn't have the balls to kill her. I think Deb will kill Hannah, and we'll probably get more of the incest angle as Deb continues her path of mental instability, culminating with Dexter and Deb in a standoff where only one will walk out.

We have a winner here. Although I'd say it was ruined when Hannah started to get more screentime than him. That bookwriter character was just horrendous, and the actor had soap opera quality written all over him.
