I think all of that was just to plant suspection on him, to make him the scapegoat for this season where more than half of it we think it is Saul where at the end there is some swerve/turn. I think it's going to be someone we haven't met yet or the black boss guy.

That was just to put suspicion on Saul and get people to think he could be the mole. But at the end of that same episode Saul went back and took it again and passed it. He was really stressed out and worked up the first time he took it so his heartbeat and stuff was rising, he came back and took it again when he was calm and collected and then passed it.

BTW Brody getting caught would be like Walter White getting caught, the show would be over. As for those saying "It would be stupid if he keeps getting out of things and escaping" Well look at Walter, how many times has he got out of jams and got away with it?

Also Damien Lewis just won best leading actor in a drama series his first year in the category, i doubt they'd be getting rid of him anytime soon. He's an amazing actor and the heartbeat of the show, getting rid of him would kill the show.

Saul did pass but Brody passed as well but we know that he was lying and passed anyway, so why couldn't Saul do the same thing? I'm not just going to throw Saul being the mole out the window so quickly.

The lie detector is debatable but remember last season when Saul got all of Carrie's papers and made that big time line on her wall? Why would he go through all that trouble if he was working for Nazir? Why would he put that puzzle together for the CIA to see? He could have very easily said she was crazy and had her put away. Also he gave the go ahead to take out Nazir, Saul being the mole would be stupid. Estes is my guess, he is the one who fired Carrie when she was getting close to solving the thing.

If Saul was the Mole wouldn't he just get rid of Brody's video?

Re: Homeland Season 2

i think the lie detector was just a red herring for THAT episode. if Saul is the mole then this show makes no sense and i'll never watch again.

also i don't think you can compare Walter White escaping to Brody escaping. Brody has shown he's not a sociopath, while Walter clearly is. Walter is also a legitimate genius while Brody is a dude that repeated 10th grade.

if the show ends with Brody getting caught it has about 3-4 seasons left including this one before it gets too contrived. first of all he notably starts acting weird both in the finale in the chamber w/ all the people and in the room last episode. if nobody notices that then they should all be fired. he just texted the top terrorist when he was about to be assassinated while surrounded by top officials. there's no believable way this show could go past a few more seasons without the government catching on. not just Saul and Carrie.

as great as Brody is he's not the main protagonist. Carrie is the protagonist and Brody is the antagonist. another reason the Walter White comparison doesn't really work as he's meant to be the main protagonist in Breaking Bad.

To me Brody is the only thing in the show thats really interesting. If the show just became Carrie battling with different foreign terrorist' every season it would get boring quickly. The family man/national hero who's actually working for the worlds biggest terrorist Abu Nazir, is whats really interesting. Him trying to hide his dark secret from his family and the CIA is imo what drives the show.

Yeah i know Walter is the main character on Breaking Bad and Carrie is Homeland's main character. But Walter really is the antagonist in Breaking Bad and Hank is the protagonist. Just like Breaking Bad needs Hank and Walter, Homeland needs Carrie and Brody, the only way either of them should go is when the show ends.

I do agree with you if that if Brody stays the show really should only go another 2 or 3 seasons. Much like Breaking Bad is stopping at season 5.

Re: Homeland Season 2

would be cool if they had brody make it to the top job and have him be incredibly conflicted as president, would be awesome having a president in Nazir's pocket.

Carrie being the one to take down his administration obviously.

That could be an ending.

Re: Homeland Season 2

After finally seeing sunday's episode, I have to agree with those who said Saul being the mole makes no sense. Like David Banner said he was there in the room and gave the ok to kill Nazir and he looked legit shocked watching the video on the sd card. Estes makes sense, but I feel like they're going to swerve it out.

I don't think it's Estes, why would Brody have to get the the plans out Estes' safe if Estes was the Mole?
