Default Resident Evil Retribution

Anyone seen it yet? I just saw it. My theater didn't have it in 3d but that was ok. I have seen all the others and the only only I thought was even half good was the first one. The rest were garbage and the last one was worse than garbage. I expected this movie to be near the bottom too, but I was suprised. It was the best of the them all imo. Lots of action.

I will say I won't like watching it on tv when it comes out on dvd. There's something about a movie screen that makes it a little less hd looking than on a tv, maybe grainy is the word, yet not. But it looks better on a movie screen than a HD screen. And the sound in the theater rocked. After I saw it I went home and watched the trailer in HD, blah, didn't seem near as good as the theater experience.

If you are an Ada fan as I am you should like the actress they chose. She looks perfect for the part and is super sexy in combat. What really suprised me is the actress they used for Ada, I though she was 23, maybe 24 tops. I looked her up and she is 39, I was like what!! But still hot and perfect for a sequel I hope they make.

Did any one else like the movie and the choice for Ada? My only complaint is Ada wasn't in enough action scenes but I thought it was super cool they used a scene with her from RE4 the game. Awesome!

Li Bingbing as Ada Wong, yes she is 39 and not mid 20's as she looks. Hard to believe, but hot!

Should I even ask if the movie had a stupid cliffhanger?

Sort of a cliff hanger, but not stupid. I really thought this movie would be terrible after seeing all the others so I was suprised. It's mainly action and not survival horror like the first 3 games are, and has no relation to any of the games, except the one scene from RE4. But they used Alice and Ada instead of Leon and Ada. But Leon is in the movie along with Barry Burton, Albert Wesker, Jill Valentine, and my fave Ada Wong.

Sadly the the bad part about the movie is Milla Jovovich as Alice. Most of the movie and fight scenes center on her which I hate, but at least this time she has some decent fight scenes.

I've enjoyed the Resident Evil movies in kind of like a pallet cleanser to a tired mood type of absorption, but I liked this one more than the others. The whole sense of alternate reality that permeates the entire film really drew me in. By the same token, I think it might have been my casual interest in the franchise that allowed me to appreciate it all the more. Putting aside everything else that they've been through during the series of movies and just allowing the story to go where it does helps it not feel as disjointed as I imagine some of the hardcore fans might think it is.

This movie kicked ass. They finally managed to fit a storyline in between explosions & guts. It's definitely an action based movie but it's more in tune with the original Resident Evil film, it nails the characters, there's an actual focus there.

It's ain't Dawn of the Dead but this franchise never pretended to be, so I love it for what it is.

Saw it yesterday, it was fucking awesome. Love the Resident Evil movie franchise, but admittedly the last couple before Retribution were lacking (still thought Afterlife was fucking sweet though). This was nothing short but epic, loved the opening scene when everything was in reverse and I love how they've managed to keep the music as awesome as it has been.

The opening scene in slow mo reverse was so awesome it should be in a game. I kept thinking I wish I had s controller to blow away some of those planes.

I really hope Ada is featured more in the next move. If it was up to me Alice-Mila would not be in the next movie.

...Seriously? I actually (more or less) liked the other Movies, but where does this one fit into the "Storyplot" from the other Movies? A lot of Action, that was Awesome, but IMO the Story just sucked. Really good thing how they put Leon&Ada into scene, they nailed the characters.
I really only "kind of" liked the Movie 'cuz I like RE, but 70% from the Audience at the Premiere Night yesterday at my Theater didn't like it at all. Let's see what Part 6 will bring in...

A buddy wanted to watch RE5 and I thought it was going to be as terrible as the last three films. However, I liked it a lot. To me, it was the true sequel to the first film that I adore.

What I liked:

- The opening score (titled "Flying Through The Air") at the beginning. Very catchy and memorable. Must download it ASAP.

- Alice not having her powers. Her being vulnerable made the movie fun to watch again. You have no idea how happy I was to see her selling her injuries as well as get her ass handed to her a few times.

The Becky character. She was a nice addition since they were dumb enough to get rid of Angela to begin with.

- The return of the Red Queen.

- Umbrella's HQ being in Russia just like in Chronicles!

- Alice's battle gear. Pretty sexy and swanky at the same time.

- There were a few jump scenes.

- Wesker having blonde hair again.

- The girl that played Ada did a good job.

- I didn't mind a previous storyline being re-used. It made sense.

- It was nice to see Michelle Rodriguez and Colin Salmon again.

- Holy sh*t @ one of the regular enemies getting Supersized!

- I marked out for Barry having a vintage moment!

- Sienna Guillory was awesome as Jill even if it felt like I was watching her play as Nina Williams from Tekken.

- My favorite scenes were Alice's Tokyo Showdown and the final fight which was worth the price of admission alone.

- The President of The United States

What I didn't like:

- The opening scene shown in reverse. I hate that sh*t.

- The fast zombies. This isn't fu**ing Dawn of The Dead!

- I thought this was a Halo movie because it seemed like everyone had unlimited ammo.

- The guy who played Leon fu**ing sucked!

- The return of the Luthor West character. Who gives a sh*t?

- How Michelle Rodriguez was booked.

- Killing off one of the team members. Fu** you, Paul Anderson!

- And of course, something happens during the ending that I didn't want to see again. GOD DAMN IT!

Overall, the movie is filler because Alice gets captured by Umbrella and has to escape. It didn't add anything to the storyline aside from what happens at the end and ironically, the movies have become more over the top than the actual videogames. Sadly, this will make more money leading to more sequels and the beat goes on...In the next Resident Evil movie or Resident Evil 7, Alice will fighting infected Martians!
