Re: Comics and Graphic Novels Vol. 2

What changed in him when he lost his metal? Did he become more vulnerable?

Also, do you believe Wolverine works best as a main character, or should they take a 'less is more' approach to him, instead having him do stuff, but as a the part of an ensemble?

The man has tremendous moments as an individual, I adore his original claremont miniseries, but I think part of the appeal of that series is that it showed us a glimpse of wolverine, instead of just tearing off the entire curtain and mystery. Even in astonishing and new x men and god loves man kills, its not all about him. Its about all the x men, which Wolverine is part of.

Hell, half of Uncanny X force Dark Angel had wolverine burnt in half, and those were still great. It just made his return better

Re: Comics and Graphic Novels Vol. 2

magneto ripping out his skeleton over-loaded his healing factor, which made it basically non-existent for a few years. the first two years after it happened were him wandering the earth trying to accept his own mortality. it was pretty great stuff, and not the kind of thing you expect to read in a wolverine comic. also his bone claws would break a lot when he tried to cut people with them, which looked like it hurt.

i think hes had enough great solo stories to justify being the main character, as long as the right person is writing him (aka chris claremont and larry hama and thats IT)

Re: Comics and Graphic Novels Vol. 2

Main character, yes. But the absolute focus of every movie and ongoing?

No denying it, Wolverine is the cool x man. Everyone falls for the guy, but lets not forget this is a team and every person should matter
