Redead, don't do it, I know you won't like it.

Re: Comics and Graphic Novels Vol. 2
Voted Marvel. Kinda weird, Batman's my favourite superhero but in general I prefer Marvel. I think I just like the 616 universe and it's spinoffs, plus there's way more heroes and villains I'm interested in reading about, like with Marvel I buy Spider-Man, X-Men, Iron Man, Captain America and Thor, wheras with DC I buy Batman and Green Lantern. Always been this way, guess it's just the way I grew up, if WHSmiths had more DC comics for sale back in the 90's it might have been different.
But I did order Superman: Birthright and All Star Superman today. Had them recommended to me lots so looking forward to digging in. Also picked up The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger Born and JLA: Tower of Babel.

Coincidentally, the Invisbles omnibus is one example. Matt Fraction's Invincible Iron Man omnibus, Superman:For Tomorrow, Final Crisis, and some Captain America omnibus ones I can think off the top of my head. I borrowed most of these from my local library and didn't like them.

Re: Comics and Graphic Novels Vol. 2
One aspect of DC comics that I've always been a fan of was the crossover events focusing on their villains or villain oriented series.
Eclipso: The Darkness Within (2 Part with crossover into annuals)
Joker's Last Laugh (6 part with crossover to most major titles)
Underworld Unleashed (same deal)
Villains United (sub set for Countdown to Infinite Crisis which lead to the new Secret Six)
Secret Society of Super Villains (series from the seventies)
Deathstroke (vol. 1 1-60)
Suicide Squad (volumes 1,2 and Raise the Flag mini)
I'm pretty sure there are others. I find the lexicon of DC villains to be infinitely more appealing than Marvel's.

Haha I'm the complete opposite. Apart from Batman's main rogues (Joker, Two-Face etc) I really can't say I enjoy many other DC villains. I mean Lex Luthor is just a don and I like Darkseid but other than them I can't really think of any others that stick out in my mind.
Whereas with Marvel I get to read about guys like Doctor Doom, Mephisto, Magneto (Magneto: Testament is my favourite graphic novel that I've read recently), Loki, the Red Skull, Baron Zemo, Green Goblin, the Jackal, Thanos, Galactus, the Hellfire Club and the Kingpin.

Hey Seph aren't you a fan of Secret Six? I was thinking of picking up a graphic novel. Either Unhinged or Depths. Which one do you recommend?

Don't get me wrong, I love super-villains across the board and you've listed some killers.
I'll counter with a list of my fav DC villains.
Deadshot, Deathstroke, Eclipso, Captain Cold, Joker, Darkseid, Fatal Five, Boomerbutt, Black Manta, Enchantress, Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, Bane, Mxyzptlk, Bizarro, Zoom, Johnny Sorrow, Black Adam, Mordru, Mirror Master, Killer Frost, Cheshire, Shadow Thief, etc., etc.,.
I could go on and on.
'Who's Who in the DC Universe' was the fist comic series I ever collected from start to finish and it was a companion to 'Crisis On the Infinite Earths' so a lot of my attachment is very personal in nature.
Edit: I'd like to add my favorite comic book cover ever.
