What backstory do I need if I decide to read Jonathan Hickman's FF?

Re: Comics and Graphic Novels Vol. 2

If Frank Miller is known for WHORES WHORES WHORES, would Card be known for GAYS GAYS GAYS.

I'm so glad DC dropped him. I'm sure he'd make Superman a homophobe.

As long as there's a Triforce, there will be a Zelda;
as long as there's a prosperous kingdom, there will be an evil bent on destroying it;
and as long as there's an oppressive force threatening Hyrule, there will be a boy...

Just know the FF origin and the fact that they love going on adventures.

Just picked up Bendis' Daredevil run. Haven't read it yet but seen David Mack's art...kind of strange and a little different. He's only on a couple issues though so it wont ruin things

Re: Comics and Graphic Novels Vol. 2

Alright, so what is this Marvel NOW thing all about?

I'm bored shitless and I was gonna pick up from where I left off about two years ago (fuck if I even remember where I was) with the X-Men books, but I have no idea what's going on with there being about twelve new books now, which I guess I should've seen coming anyway since that's what always seems to happen. Are there any worth getting into? And if there are, do I need to do dissertation-level research before reading them or I'll be lost as shit?

Someone point me in the direction of something good that won't confuse me. Doesn't need to be an X-book, either.
