Re: Comics and Graphic Novels Vol. 2

well what 'heroes' are there

everyone in it is a dick and the only guy with actual superpowers just spends the entire story showing his dick

its a deconstruction. its a pure attack

i mean say what you want about marvelman but atleast hes pretending hes a hero

Stinger, don't worry about understanding or rereading Watchmen. Its fine to enjoy it just as it is...a comic book.

Now read some old X-Men or All-Star Superman or Daredevil or Sandman or Sin City.
I'm looking to get some old X-Men stuff. I do keep passing on All-Star Superman, don't know why but every time I goto buy it, I swap it out for something else. Already have read most of Miller's Daredevil , I have to look out for the rest though

Wouldnt really call it a superhero comic though. seeing as, you know, everyone in the comic is a psychopath or a shit head and the entire comic is an attack on the concept of heroism

But i will say this, Moore was a master of getting the most of the medium. There is a reason they said watchmen is unfilmable and its not the blue penis, its the absurd level of detail and non linear storytelling

also blue penis

look all im saying is, if Dr manhatten was basically god, why couldnt he make it bigger
Well, Dr.Manhatten could make himself bigger so theres that ...then you realize he had to double team his own gf so ya

Re: Comics and Graphic Novels Vol. 2

Read both All-Star and Red Son a couple of months ago on Redead's recommendation. Both were very good, but didn't change my opinion of the altruistic infallible nature of the Superman character. Kinda like Jesus, even through mistakes Clark always comes out a saint.

777 do you like grit and dark in your comics?

Terrible advice.

The good advice is indeed to read ALL STAR SUPERMAN. If you're going to read old X-Men, I wouldn't read Dark Phoenix first. Get to know the characters and then go to the goat X-Men story.

Re: Comics and Graphic Novels Vol. 2

Are you saying for Man of Steel? There is never going to be an adequate Superman movie again.
