only in absolutely extreme cases

nobody wants a movie version shot for shot remake of a book. what people actually do want is capturing the spirit and tone of the book. the underlying meaning, and most importantly, the characters.

thats why man of steel blew. it genuinely looked like it was made by people who never read a superman comic in their lives. the sheer fact that they wanted to write a morally ambiguous superman is retarded, since that term is an oxymoron. superman cant be morally ambiguous because the entire point of superman is he is absolute good

Re: Comics and Graphic Novels Vol. 2

Who are the mutants that are on the team in the X-Men comic book done by Brian Wood? I heard this one is basically all of the X-Women apart of this team. Also even though its so far just 3 issues in is it any good?

Re: Comics and Graphic Novels Vol. 2

Thanks its kind of confusing with X-Men just because there are so many titles related to X-Men but then again there are so many X-Men so why not have multiple teams I guess.

Also I need to mention I got in and recently read the new 52 Animal Man Vol. 1 and Wolverine Goes to Hell and Wolverine Vs. the X-Men both very interesting and I really enjoyed it. I have to read The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo graphic novel book two. And then when they come in from mycomicshop.com I will begin reading the issues out so far of DC Comics Katana, Star Wars: Legacy 2 and Doctor Who/Star Trek TNG crossover comic book.

You're gonna love the Doctor/Trek stuff.

So Sci-Fi is one of your big likes or just those properties?

Re: Comics and Graphic Novels Vol. 2

I did so far enjoy the first 3 issues but then I had money troubles and couldn't get the other issues till now of the Doctor Who/star trek tng series. And sci-fi is def. one of my biggest loves and I do find it interesting reading a sci-fi comic book which is why I wanna try to eventually buy Guardians of the Galaxy I would love to get the previous series but the TPB are really expensive. Also when I can I wanna get the anniversary comic series of Doctor Who with Doctor Who: Prisoners of Time where each issue has an adventure with each doctor.

Also while it was a while ago I also recently read Vampirella Vol. 1, American Vampire vol. 1 and X-Factor vol. 2.

Re: Comics and Graphic Novels Vol. 2

I think I recommended it already, but definitely check out Saga.

Besides that, Y: The Last Man and Planetary are the other two big sci-fi ones I can recommend.

-Y: The Last Man is about a mysterious event that wipes out all males on Earth except for one man who is now on an adventure around the world. Its just so fucking fantastic.

-Planetary is about a team of "secret archaeologists" that travel the world uncovering mysteries and keeping the world strange. Its my favorite comic of all-time. Its hard sci-fi, fantasy, its an homage to superheroes, John Woo, Godzilla movies, Marvel/DC/Vertigo, pulp comics, etc. Its basically the biggest love letter to every geek culture ever all wrapped up into an amazing sci-fi fantasy epic.
