I never cared for his art to begin with. He's really good technically but it looks really plain and sterile.

Re: Comics and Graphic Novels Vol. 2

First of all, that is for the 50th issue of AXMen, it makes sense why they are doing an homage to that cover. Second, that still looks pretty great.

I fail to see how this is "hack" work.

Skottie Young

WCW, I'm really digging this cover:

Not all the blame is on him. Ellis didn't write an issue for almost 3 years when he was extremely sick. The series basically was September 1999 - October 2006 since #26 came out in 2006, but the epilogue issue didn't come out until 2009. In between that time is when Cassaday was doing AXMen.

But here's the thing about Planetary, it was sooo amazing that each issue was so satisfying that those waits weren't as bad as something like Astonishing. You could also reread the past issues and just look at all the allusions Ellis had been throwing in. Issue #7 has been reviewed, dissected, and analyzed so many times that its reached legendary status as a single issue.

Re: Comics and Graphic Novels Vol. 2

i know its Astonishing 50. it just seems stupid to have an homage to an issue so recent in a series so young

and it doesnt change the fact his original astonishing work is way more crisp than his new crap

shit, i just realised my volume of planetary only goes up to issue 6
