Re: Comics and Graphic Novels Vol. 2

it lost some of its miller-ish elements and style

but in terms of action, some fantastic sequences

Watch both JLA movies. They rock.

Re: Comics and Graphic Novels Vol. 2

Ordered Astonishing X-Men vol 1. and Amazing Spider-Man Matters of Life and Death. I know Slott's run is not that good but I have already read Big Time and liked it because it was really accesible, so can continue his run while I check out some more classic Spidey tp's. Also how's Astonishing X-Men? Have never read an X-Men story so am a complete noob (I do know the most iconic characters like Wolverine, Cyclops, Magneto, Xavier, Storm etc)

Re: Comics and Graphic Novels Vol. 2

You need to go ahead and order all of Whedon's run because its awesome. AXM is not only one of the best runs ever, but very new reader friendly.

Re: Comics and Graphic Novels Vol. 2

I'd think it's better after being at least familiar with Claremont's X-Men, but yeah, it is pretty self contained overall. And it's awesome.

Re: Comics and Graphic Novels Vol. 2

Whether you like Claremont or not, Whedon OBVIOUSLY was paying homage to Claremont's X-Men.
