What did Phoenix say about the Oscars? He was probably speaking the truth, but having heard about how good he is in The Master it sucks he might not be getting nominated now.

SCJ, you gonna' see Rust And Bone? Can't wait to see it, the trailer was seriously one of the best I've seen, like...ever.

Who did you like better, Gyllenhaal or Pena?

Just downloaded Safety not Guaranteed Bubz. I'll give my opinion once i've watched it.

Cool stuff. I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't make many peoples best of the year lists, but it's the type of quirky indie film I absolutely love.

Having a mini-Bondathon, I'm currently watching Casino Royale (2006) and after that and probably some snacks and piss break, I plan on watching Quantum Of Solace. I want to be all caught up with Bond's situation and what his relationship with M is like since it's been awhile since I've seen both new Bond movies, especially Solace because I think I've only seen it once and that was in the theater when it came out a couple years back. Just watching the first 20 minutes of Casino Royale has me all for Skyfall to hit theaters this Friday....

No chance. Extremely wishful thinking.

Pretty what everyone who is critical of awards shows says: it's garbage, irrelevant, worthless, etc.

And no, haven't seen that. Heard things about it. More than likely will get screener of it.

if ethan hawke get's an oscar nomination for his training day role, no reason pena won't get a nomination. since all the other noms are probably going to white folks, they have to get some ethnicity in there. no joke.

Hawke got nominated because his co-star Denzel has pull with voters. And Training Day was a bigger movie. End of Watch will get zip nods. Trust me. Ethnicity has nothing to do with it. It's all politics.

Watched a couple of movies tonight...

First one was Martha Marcy May Marlene. Great little psychological thriller about a girl who runs away from a cult and tries to start a new, normal life with her sister and brother-in-law. Olsen was genuinely brilliant in the lead role, with an amazing portrayal of fear and paranoia, thinking her former cult is out to get her, and trying to forget her past. She really makes you believe and feel anxious and paranoid with her. The end although it was abrupt was so great, and seriously scary.

So after that I wanted to watch another movie about a cult, so I watched Rosemary's Baby. Don't need to go into detail on this, but it's amazing. The dream sequence alone makes this a must watch film, but it's all great. Really haunting and creepy. the best thing about this is in the final scenes we don't see anything, but it's the sheer terror on Rosemary's face when she sees what's in the cradle that's terrifying. 'WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO IT'S EYES?!' Jesus. We are only given a slight hint at what's happened, and those eyes are horrible, and something that legit freaked me out and will stay with me for ages. I'm still convinced this is the best pure horror film ever made.

Elizabeth Olsen.

Martha Marcy May Marlene was a really creepy movie but in a good way. I found it somewhat sinister at times but was captivated throughout the film. Some really good performances to be fair.

Anyone seen Another Earth? Very interesting film.
