That's a first.
Movie still does make me mark out (aka GIDDY) whenever I watch it. Seriously, when those clones emerge and the battle begins. Holy crap.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II
I didn't really care for Safety Not Guaranteed, I felt like they took a 20 minute short film and stretched it to 90 minutes. The parts where Jake Johnson's character is trying to find his high school sweetheart and getting the intern laid were just filler. Aubrey Plaza has this charm to her, but once she falls in love with him, she loses credibility and becomes almost mindless. It went from a straight movie, but then at the very end he actually builds time machine, then the movie ends. He was legit insane, lied to Aubrey Plaza's character about everything, and she still gets on a boat with him and goes somewhere in time.

Time machine? I was gonna watch it just for Aubrey Plaza, but now I look forward to the science fiction aspect. Boosh.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II
Yeah you're right about him being insane and her going off with him, but I just saw it as her completely falling for his wackiness and relating to him in certain ways, which is pretty silly, but the film was really quirky and I didn't think it felt out of place personally. I see what you mean about the Jake Johnson stuff, but I enjoyed it so it didn't bother me, and I thought it at least added some depth to his character instead of him just being there to crack jokes at the other characters expense. I loved it.

I wanna see Rise of the Gaurdians. Jack Frost,Sandman,Santa,Toothfairy and Easter Bunny teaming up. Damn that's almost like the Avengers.

The story was nice, nothing special, and not summed up. but the acting made it something I'll show my grand-kids when they ask "who is Magneto"?

Best thing in a meh movie.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II
Fassbender was the best thing about Prometheus, by far. Think Skyfall might be overrating his performance just a tad though lol, it is one of the best of the year, but I haven't seen too much from the year yet. I'm guessing Marion Cotillard will have the best performance of the year in Rust & Bone though.

Noomi isn't bad in it. Fassbender getting all the attention. Again, the movie isn't good, so it's natural to single him out. And Marion is getting good buzz. Phoenix in The Master is probably being hailed but, but his awards chances have cooled significantly since coming out bashing the Oscars. To be honest, even though I've not seen The Master, most of my pals are calling it the top ones. The three performances that were at one time guaranteed spots for Best Actor were Phoenix, Daniel Day Lewis in Lincoln and John Hawkes in The Sessions. Now, Phoenix has been discounted for his comments, but DDL and JH are locks for nods.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II
I liked them all, but if you had to pick out the best, I'd say Michael was.
but, I really hope Michael Pena get's an best actor nomination this year. I got brown undies watching him in End of Watch.
