Well, no. Some people may like them but there's no way I'd call them 'beloved'. Not by a long shot. They're generic horrors, if you asked me what horrors most people would call 'beloved', I'd say films like The Exorcist, Alien, The Shining, Nosferatu etc.

"Beloved" was a bad word for usage but "Well liked" is better, i guess.

Well I wouldn't call them well liked either lol. But hey, obviously you're free to enjoy them but I doubt you'll find many other people in here that genuinely enjoy them as much.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II (part III coming soon)

what I find hilarious, is that Rottentaomatoes has an article on the most anticipated movies of the summer, 5 of them being nerd or comic originated.

10 years ago, this was all just a joke; people were scared of releasing Spiderman as it would surely flop as a huge box office failure. I was watching Face/Off last night; that was the action movies you have to make in the 90's and real early 2000's. Now it's all comics and sci fi. Truly the golden age of action/blockbuster movies we live in now.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II (part III coming soon)

The other day someone mentioned a 70's film similar to Black Swan called 'Suspiria'. Anyway, I've got that to watch tonight. Looks pretty awesome indeed.

Nicholas Cage is an awful actor, He's lifeless facial reactions and sloppy voice leveling are two off the list in his massive flaws in ability. Also, "The Wicker Man" is easily one of the WOAT remakes within the 20th century timeframe.

go watch adaptation, leaving las vegas, and Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans. then tell yourself Nicholas cage is a bad actor.

I used to think the same. He can only play insane crazy people though.

If he can only play crazy/lunies people, wouldn't that make him one-dimensional. Another flaw checked off.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II (part III coming soon)

Cage is the ultimate hit and miss actor, that's widely agreed upon. He can be dreadful in some films but be superb in others. The films Skyfall mentioned are the best examples. And I'm not sure what you define as a 'loony' exactly, but I wouldn't say he plays a cliche psychotic character in any of those films. In fact those films are all pretty awesome, especially Adaptation. I still regret forgetting about that when I did my 2000s list.
