Re: General Movie Discussion Part II (part III coming soon)

I see. Well yes, I Saw The Devil is greatness. The writer of ISTD released a movie called "New World" earlier this year. Also with Choi-Min-Sik. Read some reviews and it sounds very promising. It's been said that there are some similarities with the Godfather and Departed. Still waiting for subtitles...

What did you think of A Bittersweet Life?

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II (part III coming soon)

I remember Bubz recommending me A Bittersweet Life, comparing it to Drive and Le Samourai. Of course, i'm of the very small minority of people on here that didn't care much for Drive, so I held up on it. Trailer looked promising though.

New World is another one I keep hearing about but I have yet to check out. Terrence Malick is a capable Director so I couldn't see this not living up to it's hype in some way. Godfather and Departed wasn't really what came to mind when I read the synopsis, it gave off a Dances with Wolves vibe more than anything. lol

EDIT: Ok, not the same "New World". Haven't seen ether of them.

Oh, you misread something. I was talking about this one: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2625030/

I Saw The Devil is awesome.

I'd rank the vengeance trilogy:

Oldboy
Sympathy For Mr Vengeance
Lady Vengeance

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II (part III coming soon)

Yeah I edited my last post after I noticed my oversight. Just read up on it now and I definitely see the Godfather/Departed comparison. Even the first reviewer on the page references those exact movies. Should be good.

All this Asian films talk makes me want to keep up with them more. There was a time when I was hardcore into it, but lately i've drifted away.

Dead Mans Shoes is one of the best films I have ever seen. If you haven't seen it I highly recommend it. Truly gritty with some outstanding acting.

Dead Man's Shoes was mentioned briefly yesterday I think. It is indeed a great film though.
