Sometimes i'll skip back to bits during the movie, sometimes i'll rewatch the movie if it's especially esoteric and hard to understand, but it's seldom. I definitely agree on picking up subtle nuances the second time around.
There's just too much stuff I want to watch, and too little time during the day. Some of the stuff in the top 20 of my lists i've seen a few times.
