Re: General Movie Discussion Part II (part III coming soon)

I haven't seen that many of his films, but Dogville is pretty spectacular. Antichrist is good too. The man himself is pretty retarded though, he recently got banned from Cannes for saying stuff like "Hitler had some good ideas" and calling himself a Nazi.

For what it's worth, I haven't seen Death Proof yet, and i've only seen parts of Jackie Brown. Pulp Fiction is surprising though, that's quite possibly the most popular movie of all time at this point.

Until you've seen, Jan Svankmajer's Alice, you'll always only be the left-over sprinkles of a Reddi-Whip aerosol spray can.

EDIT: ABH: It's a typo for krautrock.

Dancer in the dark is really impressive though. Haven't seen much of him either. Lol@ that picture. I'm "that guy" if it had some classical.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II (part III coming soon)

I'd like to hear people's opinions on Dogville if they've seen it. It's pretty fucked up, nothing Lynch-like but it's strange. It's basically a three hour play, with people's houses not having any walls and just shown by white lines on the floor. It's hard to describe.

Well, as the trailer boldly points out, Holy Mountain defies all classification. I think it'd be insulting to Jodo's art if it didn't rank somewhere at the bottom of the abyss.

To answer Sono's question, I'm not really a fan of Lars Von Tier. Dancer in the Dark was good, and Breaking the Waves was made by Emily Watson's great performance, but nothing he's done has ever blown me away. I did enjoy Antichrist much more than most people, even if I aknowledge that it's somewhat kitsch with some unecessary fucked up scenes.

It's ok Cody, was too busy being discombobulated by your username change to notice your subtle dig at Love Exposure.
