OMG, my influence is about to kill poor Cody! I suppose as long as they don't bring up this thread as means, motive, and opportunity material in Court, all's good. Thank God for the EDIT button *evil grin*

Lets blame Mad Men for this instead. Roger Sterling makes legit hallucinating look like so much zen induced fun.

That movie looks so ridiculous. Remember seeing the trailer ages ago and telling myself to stay away because my brain probably couldn't take it.

Is it a fan page? Probably run by someone with zero affiliation with Stallone. Not a bad custom made poster though.

Remember the few times in the past when I spoke about Jodorowsky originally being the guy that was supposed to Direct Dune with Salvator Dali in a lead role? Well, turns out they made an entire documentary about it, and it's premiering at Cannes this year.

Now this I have to see.

Blarg, might watch El Topo tonight.

Edit: Watched El Topo. Parts of it I loved and found to be very powerful, but there was a lot of it I didn't really care for. There were elements of Leone and Godard in there, and some of the visuals were pretty amazing, the symbolism for the most part was very interesting, but sometimes felt a little too self indulgent for me. Maybe that was me reading into it the wrong way, but yeah, I didn't love it, but I didn't dislike it, probably not something I'd watch again. Reminded me of Godard's 'Weekend' in those respects I guess.

I put 'Love Exposure' at the highest priority on my LoveFilm list and expected it to arrive today, but they've shafted me. Did get Silver Linings Playbook through however. Sorry blarg, will have experience Love Exposure next week. *sighs* The anticipation is killing me.

Love El Topo (used to have a sig from it), first hour is like the greatest, weirdest, psychedelic western and the second hour is like a sad tragic comedy, totally self indulgent yes but I love that Jodorowsky never compromises a thing, repeated viewings show a lot of humour in his stuff, more so in Holy Mountain than El Topo. The Holy Mountain just has to be seen to be believed, theres nothing quite like it.

Def wanna see that Dune doc, the mind boggles what Jodo would have come up with, he usually comes across pretty funny and down to earth in interviews too despite whatever craziness he's talking about.

Wicked. I saw alot of Fellini in there too, but that's not surprising since he's one of Jodo's biggest inspirations. You really have to hunt down some of Jodo's interviews to get a good feel for the message he tries to convey in his movies, he's one of those rare individuals that's almost always fascinating to listen to with his great insight on a number of topics. I totally see your point about self-indulgence and that's a fair point, I mean just look at the trailer I just posted of the Dune documentary, you don't get much more ambitious (pretentious?) than that lol

I don't watch his movies multiple times, usually once is more than enough, but I consider them all as must-sees just for how unique they are, and the care that goes into them.

Surprised that it isn't on Netflix, though it doesn't surprise me on the Canadian service since the licensing issues abroad basically left us with table scraps

I feel like the wait for Love Exposure will only make the experience even greater once you finally watch it, ether that or your expectation level will be so ridiculously high that it'll end up not meeting them. i doubt that though, it's the only 4 hour movies i've ever watched more than once
