Re: General Movie Discussion Part II
Con Air shouldn't work on so many levels but man it's brilliant, like that cast should not be in a blockbuster violent 90s action movie but it fucking works, Buscemi and Malkovich look like they've stepped off some low budget psychological thriller, Danny Trejo and Ving Rhames are doing their usual SCUMMY shit, Cage is wondering around like he's been hooked up to heroin for a year somewhere on the bayou, John Cusack is CUSACKING shit up, Colm Meaney is hanging around for no reason, fucking Dave Chappelle's in there.
That should make it an absolute clusterfuck, but shit it works so much, if only Danny Trejo's Johnny 23 was called Johnny 99 or some shit...

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II
I'm still not sold on Cruise being Reacher (Ryan Hurst, Opie from SoA would have been BOSS even if hes a tad young) and the movie seems to be changing certain things about the character (Reacher hates owning things, since when does he have a car ) but at least the new trailer makes the movie look better than the first one did.

Bubz when did you become that pretentious arthouse movie critic. Go back to getting drunk and watching Nic Cage flicks please.
Sorry about that. I love writing about films that I want to talk about afterwards and shit, even if nobody cares. What can I say, I guess I just love 'pretentious arthouse movies' . I just never go into much depth on here about stuff, only reason I did this time was because I was talking to someone in here about that film the other day and he recommended it to me. I won't do it again, I promise (I probably will tbh).
Drive Angry was alright, if only for WILLIAM FUCKING FICHTNER!
Also, @ Hailsabin, was talking about it the other day, Cage can be great when he's actually interested in the project and not just in it for the paycheck, hardly ever happens these days though.
Con Air is actually a pretty decent movie given the premise of it.
And oh man Monica Potter in that movie would fucking get it.

Con Air works on the first viewing, but subsequent viewings make all of it stale. Malkovich still rules, though.

It moves slow, but I found that to be the point. But I did get to interview Oldman for it, so I give it a pass
ON a side note, I'll be absent these next few days as I am getting married tomorrow. I might pop on tonight or Sunday before the honeymoon. After that, I'll miss chatting with you guys and gals for a week. Still may pop on once in a great while next week depending on internet connection. I may have missed one Lincoln screening already, but I come back to Skyfall on Monday the 29th.
