No, don't think Spike was involved with that. It was a satirical movie with a Cabaret element if I remember correctly. It's vague since I only seen it once epochs ago. Must be pseudo hypomnesia at work.
YES! Don't remember how bad the movie was, only caught glimpses of it on tv at 2 in the morning. The visuals fucked with my mind. I had to make sure the Director was actually black because I feared for his safety lol

I don't mind remakes either, but diehard horror fans would gut me for saying I prefer TCM redux over the original.
TCM remake will be good/great without all that watered down violence, specially because the charm of the original was how ridicule the violence look. And the the montage, god, a guy with epilepsy will move the camera less
Does anyone remember the name of that Spike Lee 'Joint' where the actors wore masks reminiscent of black people in those racist Merrie Melodies cartoons? I seen that on tv a long time ago, and the visuals stuck with me.
Not sure but Bamboozled?
And thanks for the props again guys
Edit: Hayonne and spookshow win me to it
Only one is a wanderer, two together are always going somewhere.
I think Inside Man was the only movie of his I liked.
Inside Man IS a very good movie. Probably his most maisntream. But the man has gone off the deep end. My good friend and fellow critic was live in the auditorium at Sundance last year when Spike Lee started yelling at audience members when they question the quality of Red Hook Summer. Supposedly, even Chris Rock was there and said a joke of some kind that was very critical and overall negative of the film. And then his rant about QT and Django was ridiculous. Yeah, QT rewrote history a little, but Lee is just jealous that 1) he didn't do it first and 2) someone else with a heck of a lot more talent did it first.
Oh lord he did rant on Django. How did I know he had to do that? b/c it said a certain term a lot? Or b/c it portrayed black actors in a "negative light"? Even though the main character was black and ended up being the biggest bad ass in the flick. But, of course that wouldn't happen to matter.
