Re: General Movie Discussion Part II

Late as always.
@ The Evil Dead redux

The horror sites I visit will probably come all over the film regardless of quality and more in favour of gore, but I'll wait since the trailer, while looks kind of cool, never really hooked me when it made its debut.

Still isn't quite Once Upon a Time in the West great.
I agree with all of this.

I really don't mind remakes, if it's good I'll see it. I am actually looking forward to Evil Dead, and I am hoping Spike Lee will keep Oldboy true to the original. The last thing I want is Oldboy to be watered down, it needs to be as gritty the original.

I'm excited to see how Oldboy starring Josh Brolin will be made into a movie about the unjust ways Blacks are treated in this country.

@Myers
I don't mind remakes either, but diehard horror fans would gut me for saying I prefer TCM redux over the original.

Edit: No one likes Do The Right Thing?

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II

Does anyone remember the name of that Spike Lee 'Joint' where the actors wore masks reminiscent of black people in those racist Merrie Melodies cartoons? I seen that on tv a long time ago, and the visuals stuck with me.
