He indirectly compared the weakest installment in the franchise to one of the greatest action moves of our time. I'm sticking by the douche observation for the time being.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II

I could see that just as much as being him starting to make a name for himself in Hollywood (working with Cruise & Willis is something of a big deal) and some shameless self promotion. You aren't going to see someone up and say "Don't see my movie, it doesn't compare to the others" because he'd never work again.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II

I enjoyed Die Hard 5. I knew it wouldn't be anything like the original, so I tried to watch it without bias. The only things that annoyed me were the super extended car scene and lack of comedic sidekick/secondary character. Well, and the 'twist'. Otherwise it was good. Not great, but good enough. Made for a decent enough date movie(she liked it so it's a win).

Call Kenny Loggins. Cause you're in the Danger Zone.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II

hmmm so I was just watching Big Trouble in Little China, and it got me thinking.. is it really a repurposed Buckaroo Banzai sequel? I some ways I don't think it is, since I don't equate Lo-Pan to "World Crime League," or Jack Burton as Banzai. If it's a repurpose, it was pretty much a ground-up rewrite.

but then again, Hanoi Xan kinda rhymes with David Lo Pan, so that's worth looking into.

I will be puting tomorrow the Elvis review, surprising enough i don't even remember having the movie so for some strange reasons this was the first time i saw it. So even if i don't change my opinion in all the movies (highly unlike) this project since now is worthy the time

both were scripted by the same man: W. D. Richter. He was hired to re-write the original script that was a fucking western (only thinking of this is great), the only idea he keept from the original was Lo Pan.

Jack can do no wrong. easily one of the most fun people to quote since Inigo Montoya in the Princess Bride.

True that.

Guess the only question now is figuring out what the HELL is the deal with "Remo Williams, the Adventure Begins."

I mean... if McClane is swearing like a sailor 15-20 years ago, when he older and senile, you'd think he'd be swearing more. With that blasphemy of reality in mind, nothing compares to the suspension of belief in the 5th.
loved it at the time but DH2 just hasnt aged well for me at all, the setting and story isnt as good, the jokes arent as funny and the villain isnt as campy memorable (despite DAT ass shot at the start).
3rd one gets the mix just right, its like a better Lethal Weapon, or more accurately is like a much better Last Boy Scout with a much better side-kick.
No interest in the new one, I'll probably eventually see it when it comes on tv.
