You can tell it was a Disney production and not Pixar alone. Lasseter was a producer but you knew when you were watching it wasn't a Pixar film. (This argument would have been better before the AWFUL Brave film, but it's not)

I feel Disney original films nowadays rely TOO much on pop culture. Having Scrillex and dubstep music ticked me off because it felt cheap and something Dreamworks/Sony animation pictures would do. As did the immature humor at times. I enjoyed the voices in the film (Jane Lynch was brilliant as was Felix's voice, i can't remember who voiced him) and some of the ideas were genius.

Pretty good, probably animated film of the year but 2012 wasn't that great for animations (That i've seen)

Good chance Blade Runner 2 might not even happen, plus would rather see the Prometheus story continue right now anyways.

Oh, I've downloaded Brave to watch, I wasn't too interested in it, I though I'd maybe watch it eventually, because it's an unspoken Scottish based fantasy, when you put 'AWFUL' in capitals I was kinda' surprised, I know it's went down well a lot, critics too.

I certainly don't get some people's claim that this is the greatest super hero movie ever made lulz
15 minutes in I was ready to stop. I enjoyed all of the singular films leading up towards the Avengers. Something about the co-op picture threw me off and failed to capture my interest. Masturbatory seemed to be the fitting word when it was all said and done.

I could see why any movie involving Scarlett Johansson would be masterbatory, unless you're referring to the other definition

It could be both meanings.

Oh, I wasn't grouping the first Hulk flick in the pile - b/c it's the worst thing ever - only the one with Norton which was the lead in for The Avengers. (funny how Hulk changes 3 times in 3 movies, huh?) Agreed completely on the quick buck theory. That's all I saw it for. Lets group all of these superheroes in one movie together and bam, goldmine. The over-hyping for it is so excessive. It makes me wonder what's the point in caring for a good superhero movie if nonsense like this (Avengers) can be done for a less than favorable reason and be more successful than all the rest. I guess that's the movie process nowadays. For some.

Well hell, removed the second part of my post minutes after posting it. You were quick on the draw lol

Norton's Hulk was a major improvement. Ang Lee just didn't have the right screenplay for the first movie , and the chemistry between the actors didn't really click. I did like the guy they chose to play Hulk in the Avengers, he was the most interesting character to me, and that's saying a lot since I love Robert Downey Jr.

Capt'n America just came across as chauvinistic propaganda to me as a kid, and I never bothered with any of his comic books. That's just me

Yeah I think the overhyping was excessive too. I think in this case it was warranted since it's the first time we got a group of superheroes with their own established movies coming together for one giant concoction. It's a geek's wet dream come true, so I understand why they did it. Though if you look at the movie for what it is, as a stand alone action movie, it's just okay. I don't see anything they did that was groundbreaking or extraordinary, just a bunch of actors coming together and having fun. I think it's the general build up and excitement for it that caused some people to think it was epic. I almost fell asleep half way through it tbh

Saw Hitchcock the last week and BLEH.

The movie is to much about his relationship, his obsession about blondes, and his insecurities. But never go to nothing in detail. And more important, you never get what is the thing who makes Hitchcock the genius he was, never understand his work as a director.

In the good, you got this great surrealism secuences of his dreams (like in spellbound) and there are 2 or 3 jokes that are great if you're really into cinema.

Hitchcock seemed like it would be a front runner for the Oscars before it was released, but then it just got pretty poor reviews and turned me off seeing it. Is Anthony Hopkins any good in the role?
