It was chaos theory, with Ryan Phillipe? Statham turns out to be bad in the end.

Is a great movie, but in some moments is really cheesy like almost all the Neorealism. But yes, if you want to aproach to the italian masters is a great start.

Even then you should see Rossellini movies. The greatest of the bunch and one of the better fillmmakers ever

Is The Leopard any good asdf? It caught my attention because it has Alain Delon in it and he's a boss. It also looks pretty epic in scale.

It also has Burt Lancaster and Claudia Cardinale (the woman from Once Upon a Time in the west) who is really gorgeus.

Without a doubt is a great movie, but you should prepare because is longer than three hours and the movie tries to Dissect the Aristocratic world so can be really tedious, specially for the tone used and the rythm

My favorite from Visconti is Death In Venice

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II

Yeah I saw the length. I'm all for a long movie tbh. It's on my to watch list currently. I've got a list I'm going to try and get through before I get bogged down with watching tons of stuff from one particular director etc. Hoping to get through some American classics as well as some more Godard and Melville stuff soon. Planning on watching The Devils next, maybe tomorrow.

Talking Of Godard, I watched my first Godard movie I didn't really like the other day; Weekend. I didn't hate it, but I didn't 'like' it. There was some brilliant stuff in it as per ususal, and some great themes and topics, but it came off as more pompous to me than all of his other work I've seen. I'd still probably watch it again at some point because his films pretty much demand re-watches just to process everything he was going for.

I'm kinda interested in seeing Warm Bodies. The trailers were hit-and-miss, but the reviews have been decent. I might check it out.
