Re: General Movie Discussion Part II
What's that? Rotten Tomatoes gave Taken 2 a really low rating? Well, I was gonna see it, but now those twats said its shit I guess I won't bother...
Watched 10 "British Ganster" films in the last week or so, here's how I would order them:
1. The Long Good Friday
2. Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels
3. Snatch
4. Layer Cake
5. Sexy Beast
6. Get Carter
7. Face
8. RocknRolla
9. The Krays
10. Revolver
Revolver started off good, but fuck, last 20 minutes were total shit and ruined the entire thing. Layer Cake was a huge shock for me because I'd seen it years ago and didn't like it. The Long Good Friday is legit up there with The Godfather as one of the best mafia/mob/ganster films ever.

Looks good! I'm a huge fan of all the Die Hard films (not sure what the general feeling is about 4, but I'm guessing it had mixed reviews at least), so I'm all for another.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II
Yeah, that will most definitely be shit I'm guessing.
Not seen Layer Cake apart from the first 15 minutes, seemed alright. Snatch & Lock Stock are good but they really aren't the type of films I enjoy watching much anymore.
Watched Before The Devil Knows You're Dead last night. Really good little crime/gangster movie by Sydney Lumet. Phillip Seymour Hoffman FTW! Marisa Tomei is class too, and she's naked in it.

Had lunch with John Hawkes other day. Had great conversation with him about "Winter's Bone," roles he'd turned down and his method dedication on "The Sessions." Fantastically humble, sincere and nice guy to talk to.

Best worst film ever, hyped for the sequel.
Die Hard 5 will probably be shit, writer and director haven't done anything good and father/son films are always awful, ie rocky 5

That's awesome. Haven't seen him in too much, but he's great in Winter's Bone and Eastbound & Down.
Just saw Narc, man, what an overlooked film. Genuinely great police/crime movie looking at the undercover side of things and how it affects people and their family's, and what they are willing to do to protect people they care about whether it's within the rules or not. Brilliant performances, great story and twist(s). Proof that Liotta can be really great, his best movie easily after Goodfellas. Jason Patrick was really good as well, and the film was really gritty and realistic. The opening scene is incredible, maybe one of the best starts to a movie I can think of.
