Just checked out the new Resident Evil released last year. It's certainly not groundbreaking and the plot is unoriginal at times (although going through multiple simulations of cities was a neat idea) but the action is great. The best way to describe this film would be 'fun'. Not something to take seriously but a good watch if you're looking for some great action. You don't get emotionally invested in most of the characters, but I did find myself rooting for the little girl to survive (but I hate seeing children killed in general in any film).

I recently saw a Statham movie where he was an American Cop who for some reason never talked about had a British accent. Really dude? Can't even try to not have the accent?

I guess it's the hedge clipper scene? There is a beheading off camera lol. It's where nothing is going on and then BAM.
Here it is. It's just that up until this point in the movie, it was going very slow. That's mostly what got me, and what probably gets everyone.
Fuck me that was awesome. Those demonic flicks. When done right, can be all kinds of brilliant.
Now I'm not comparing...but I'm down for The Last Exorcism II for this year. I got a kick out of the first so to see the fallout from the stellar ending is enough to have my eyes glued. Doesn't hurt I found myself being interested in Ashley Bell (aka the possessed girl)
