Indeed. It's a brave move from Gosling to direct a film which has somewhat of a complex plot.
But then again, it is Gosling.

I'll download Drive atm (don't own it - FUCK) and kill some time, aka SLEEP, by popping in another Jim Carrey flick. Probably Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. Only hope I don't spend the time laughing as opposed to trying to get some zzzzz for a bit.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II
Seriously. I tried the same with Liar Liar and boom. All laughs and no sleep.
Well, if I was so tired one night that I actually fell asleep during The Venture Brothers, then ANYTHING is possible. (if I post again in 90 minutes we'll know the answer)

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II
Just watched Stand Up Guys. Al Pacino, Christopher Walken, Alan Arkin, Mark Margolis and some others. Really enjoyed it, though I wouldn't call it great or anything. Don't go into it expecting something great and you should have fun. Basicall, Pacino gets out of prison after 28 years. Walken is is best friend and they reunite. Margolis wants Walken to kill Pacino by 10am the next day. Pacino finds out, and he and Walken spend the day and night just having fun one last time. It's Pacino in his old age + Walken at any age, which makes me because Walken is just... well he's WALKEN and he's awesome, and Pacino as he gets older just gets bigger and louder and looks to be having more fun rather than being all "serious".

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II
Goslings movie he's directing sounds really interesting. Definitely looking forward to it. He seems to have a good eye for great scripts and roles (for the most part) as an actor so I'm willing to bet he could create something really good behind the camera. Story definitely sounds intriguing, and it has Christina Hendricks too.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II
Speaking of Gosling. I just watched 'Stay' not too long ago for the 2nd time. What an amazing movie, probably the best and most overlooked thing Gosling's ever been a part of. The intricacies of the camerawork, all the subtle things you pick up on that gives you clues to what's going on. I've noticed a lot more details the second time I viewed it than the first, but won't give too much away since it's hard to get into the plot of that movie without giving too much away.
For those that haven't seen it, check it out, it's very special.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II
Bound might just have made my all time favorite list. I think it did. Holy shit, quite the surprise this one. The suspense throughout was incredible, and it's honestly been a while since I've felt this engaged to a movie. All I knew beforehand was how it's a Watchowski Bros (Matrix) film, but that wasn't really a guarantee of anything. It's somehow taken me this long to discover this sexy-ass thriller. A definite WATCH NOW.
