Well, Die Hard 5 is Rated R. Will probably be rubbish regardless of the rating. I hear you though.

Movie studios want to aim for two things: the younger demographic of ages 12-16, or the older 'nostalgia' demographic.

This is why we are getting so many remakes/sequels/prequels recently - because it caters to the older generation that fell in love with the original films, but is also appealing to the younger generation that weren't around when the original films were released.

Edit: Double post.

Today, not. Specially because that kind of movies, build to a particular scene or moment, for good or bad

Action movies today are about Fast montages and trying to put everything they can in all the images, mixing this with potent and trascendental music, the idea is not let the crowd to rest. Take for example the Batman movies.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II

Has anyone seen Zero Dark Thirty? If so, any good?

I don't know how long it's been out in the States, but it was only released yesterday in the UK.

Zero Dark Thirty is really good. Haven't seen The Impossible yet.

Also saw the trailer for Emperor with Tommy Lee Jones. It looks good.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II

Raid Redemption was boring IMO.

Felt like a YouTube movie tbh.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II

so the new Die Hard movie is actually attracting people?

A tad surprised. Let it die already if my thoughts on it.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II

Die Hard with a Vengeance was just awesome. Should have stopped with that one. I honestly don't care at all about this Die Hard. Or the next one coming out next year or whenever.
