Re: General Movie Discussion Part II

New Dredd was pretty good I thought. Only saw via a streamed cam job, but there's DVD standard versions online now so I'll probably give it another look at some point.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II

The only thing I didn't like about DREDD were the designs for the motorbikes they ride. They just looked far too plain, they didn't look badass enough for the Judges to ride. Still, it was an entertaining movie and Karl Urban was great as Dredd.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II

Guys Django Unchained isn't really that good. It's a mess at some points. Other times it's completely enthralling. It's usually enthralling when Waltz and/or Leo are on the screen. Jamie Foxx was bad. Well bad might be going a bit too far. I was very indifferent about him and the character Django.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II

I've heard generally mixed feelings about Django from people who's opinions I trust, but given how much of a QT fan I am I'm sure I'll like it. I loved 'Basterds and that has generally mixed opinions too so I remain hopeful.

You say that but Waltz is in about 2 hours of it

Not as good as PF, Dogs or Basterds but I have it above Tarantino's other films. I was expecting Leo to steal the show, and while he's great (dat dinner table scene), Samuel L. Jackson is simply hilarious in this.

Yeah but Foxx has the ability to counter Waltz being great.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II

I don't really like Tarantino movies. Only have seen Resevoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction though.

Im probably go to see Django today. I'll probably like it.

If MrMr didn't like it, that's a good sign.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II

Think the general consensus is that it's kind of fun but the characters are really poorly written. I'll still watch it because it has GOSLING in it though.
