Re: General Movie Discussion Part II

I thought about starting to just burn the films I downloaded to discs to save money, but I realized it didn't do it for me, I have to have the actual dvd's. Talking of dvd's, I LOVE it when a dvd has a card board slip case, just looks cool .

Life of Pi has cool visuals, but I lost interest in the plot.

I guess my dad is a movie collector.

Dude, has like 800 movies from before the year 2000. And like 300 from after.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II

I can't do box sets. I can't buy just one thing, even if there's a shitload of discs and features. Like I stated,I'm a bundle person. I'm usually leaving the store with 14 movies.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II

I've only got a couple of box sets, wanting to get more though. I've got The Wire, Sopranos, BSG (C'MON PEOPLE!), Twin Peaks and a couple of old SouthPark sets. Hoping to get Mad Men and Community soon too.

I don't like movie sets, like a box set of a trilogy or something. I'd rather have all three films separately for some reason. I do have The Godfather trilogy set, but I don't think you can buy them separately. Everything else like LOTR, Batman, Bourne, Toy Story etc I have individual dvd's for.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II

If my internet was better then I'd probably watch a whole lot more films, sadly the only way I can really see them is getting them from my brother-in-law or friends. The Cinema we have in the City is pretty shit, only ONE screen! So it doesn't really show a lot of movies.

The other way is buying them on DVD and I think I own quite a few of them. Just a couple of Cabinets are filled with them. I'm usually one to buy the Special Editions of films, that is if they look worth while. Like the LotR ones, have all three. Or the Godfather Trilogy. Same with the Blade Runner 5 disc set, Evil Dead Trilogy etc.. Just love them.

Have a few TV boxsets as well. A lot of the South Park ones. Also got the 24 boxset at a good price. Then there's the wrestling ones...

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II

Finally saw The Hobbit today. Pretty rad.

Thorin Oakenshield > Aragorn? Both are pretty badass. Thorin charging the pale orc through the flames was kinda awesome.

Awesome to see Gollum again. Liked Freeman as Bilbo. Really I can't think of anything I didn't like about this movie. Glad we never got a good look at Smaug. I really wanted to see him, but it's better to tease his awesomeness than show him in all his draconic fury and majesty.
