Re: General Movie Discussion Part II

No, Avengers was not overrated. How could it be? People kept going back and watching it over and over. Great action film and it never really dragged. As for The Hobbit, probably not as good as any of the LOTR films, but it was nowhere near bad. I thought it was a really good film.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II

I don't get hyped for films anymore. If it's a disappointment, so be it. The Avengers was probably the biggest surprise to me when it came to the blockbuster movies. I really thought going in it would be just okay and would just be cash grab for the studios.

Avengers > TDKR in every possible way.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II

it sure was. and even saying that really isn't an insult to TDKR; since Avengers was that good.

as for the Hobbit, I felt the opposite. It was not well paced and boring at a lot of it. I would have probably loved it if it were in one movie, or even 2. But it's in 3 movies and that pisses me off.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II

I was going to say TDKR wins in the hotty in skintight suit catagory but then I remembered ScarJo was in The Avengers.

I've come to the conclusion everything after the stadium gets blown up in TDKR is just plain bad. Didn't really have problems before that.

Hard to say between Scarlett and Anne, gonna go with Selina Kyle though. Just barely. A 3 way with those two would be nice though.

They're making another Percy Jackson movie. This makes me happy.

This weekend alone I got

ParaNorman
Frankenweenie
Pitch Perfect
The Possession
The Campaign
Killing Them Softly
Django Unchained
The Hobbit
Total Recall
Machete
The House At The End of the Street
Trouble With the Curve
The Odd Life of Timothy Green
Dredd
Looper
Seven Psychopaths

Granted I still have a stack of at least 25 other movies that I have yet to watch, so I'll never get around to half of them. I did watch Trouble with the Curve & Timothy Green though & liked them both. I'll probably watch Seven Psychopaths today because I'm a huge Tom Waits mark.

Thanks for the reminder lol. Had Total Recall and Seven Psychopaths on the agenda for a while tbh. Also want to see Gangster Squad when it's out.
