Repo the Genetic opera was lousy. I thought the theme and songs were dumb, not just awful.

I like campy musicals, Little Shop of Horrors is a favorite of mine.

Killer Joe, good stuff. Though I might have to watch something a little more cheerful now. Still Christmas to me dammit.

Just saw a commercial for Looper. ive never saw a movie where I really loved it but just ended up really hating it. The latter part of the film was just so bad to me. Maybe I got into thw wrong characters but man did I hate how everything ended.

Django Unchained was very good. The whole cast did an amazing job. Waltz,Foxx, and maybe even Dicaprio will get Oscar nominations.

That being said, I haven't seen a movie that was head and shoulders above the rest for best picture or director. Movies like Moonrise Kingdom,Perks of Being a Wallflower, and Silver Linnings Playbook were great because they preyed on your emotions and were also very good in the process. While other films like The Master and Lincoln had great performances but the movie was long and boring at times and I have no interest in seeing them again. Django was basically another Tarantino film which is not a bad thing considering I love all of his films, but it wasn't anything out of the ordinary for him. Argo left me the most satisfied since I came in thinking it would be a decent film, but found myself on the edge of my seat for over half the film.

I haven't seen Zero Dark Thirty, Les Miserable or The Sessions yet which have a lot of buzz around them. I am going to try and see them in the coming weeks.

Going back to the Lynch department:

Inland Empire >>> Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me >>> Lost Highway >>> Mulholland Drive >>> Wild At Heart >>> Blue Velvet >>> Eraserhead >>> The rest.

I also love Elephant Man and specially Straight Story, hell even Dune. But that movies being good or even amazing on they own, are not real Lynch's so they are at the Bottom

Looper was a short, confusing, mess of a film. Fuck it.

Re-watched Wild at Heart yesterday, and it's not even close to Blue Velvet, Mulholland, Highway, Empire or Eraserhead. It might be Lynch's weakest film, actually. All those films are head and shoulders above Wild at Heart.

I still have not seen Inland Empire. I don't even know anything about it.

On the out there Lynch scale, where does it rank? How surreal? How's the horror/is there even horror?

Looked it up. Laura Dern. Unfortunate. I still need to see the damn thing though.

I've seen IE only once, and I vaguely remember it. Based on that, it didn't hit Top 5, that's for sure. But I don't know what a re-watch can bring.

It's pretty surreal and freaky... Few creepy touches too. And it's one of the biggest mindfucks ever. So yeah, you'll either love it or hate it.
