Re: General Movie Discussion Part II

No, but it didn't totally disappoint me either. I think someone who hasn't read the books would enjoy the movie just fine, or maybe even love it and someone like me who has read them all might think it could have been better. But that pretty much applies to any book to film adaption i've seen.

The hobbit was boring. Long. Not exciting. I'm just going to rewatch the LOTRs instead.

The Devil's Carnival was sufficiently enjoyable. Didn't know going in that it was a short film. Clocking in at only 50 minutes + a 3 minute finale song during the credits. I still marked for it. More please. They've tackled the future where getting surgery became a fashion statement done in opera form and now Hell showcased through three fables while in the setting of a dark carnival. I want to see what else Terrance Zdunich can conjure up. He's the man. Bringing back Alexa Vega & especially Jessica Lowndes will be greatly appreciated.

Best part of this movie was Emilie Autumn though. She got a song too. I was one happy stocking filled with HAYLEY JOY~!

Watched Killing Them Softly today. was a pretty solid movie. a little over the top and the movie ended abruptly but that final short monologue by brad pitt was pretty good.

is this a spinoff or sequel or something, to another movie? I'd give it a try.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II

It's not a sequel or anything, but it's the second movie done by the combo of Darren Lynn Bousman & Terrance Zdunich. First one being Repo: The Genetic Opera. Both are complete with original songs galore and are just both a lot of fun. Like an alternative to the "traditional" musical. Mostly b/c of the edgy content and the fact that the music is more rock oriented. Although, The Devil's Carnival was very vaudeville influenced type rock. It's was pretty awesome overall.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II

Would it make a difference if I just watched Rocky IV if I haven't seen Rocky I-III or would I be out of the loop? I'm thinking of watching through the entire series anyway, but the Ivan Drago character really intrigues me and I want to just jump right into IV.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II

I watched "Flight" staring Denzel Washington, yesterday. I thought it had a good message in it, and was really happy with the ending.
