Re: General Movie Discussion Part II

I put it on my d/l list already. Well, one positive review is all I need. Plus, I found myself wanting to see every Jennifer Lawrence movie this year for the fun of it. I'll never want to watch The Hunger Games again though.

Good to hear, I planned on giving that a look soon myself.

Still need to see FLIGHT as well. Anyone have word on that?

It's funny that you mentioned Flight, the dvdscr leaked today. There's a regular screener and there's one without watermarks.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II

Hobo with a Shotgun was absolutely terrifying, and I loved it. I felt like it had the same level of reality as Crank, which is one of my top 5 favs.

and...

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II

Really want to see Silver Linings Playbook. Is there a rip of it available yet? Last time I looked I didn't find anything.

Also, yeah Place Beyond The Pines definitely does look awesome. Blue Valentine is amazing and this looks like it could be even better. I'm presuming that's where Gosling and Eva Mendez hooked up.

Also, I don't mind Cooper. He seems like quite a nice bloke based on interviews and such that I've seen.

Level of reality with Crank. I think that's another way of saying it's UNreal. idk, perhaps.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II

Finally saw what was arguably my most anticipated film of the year.

Jack Reacher - 7/10

Big fan of the book series but I probably would have liked this a lot more not having any expectations (and they were pretty big), in fact I think most people who follow the books will feel the same way but wouldn't be a problem for someone who has little or no knowledge of the character. It worked, despite feeling really "off" at points and Cruise wasn't quite as bad as I was suspecting but I still would have preferred someone (anyone) else in the title role. Robert Duvall's character was a lot of fun for the 15 minutes he was in the movie though. Also (sorta spoiler) I thought it was a really bad idea to show the sniper's face at the beginning of the film, kinda ruined some of the plot.

Worth seeing if its something you think would interest you but its probably not going to blow you away or anything.
