Re: General Movie Discussion Part II

Watched Into The Wild last night. Immediately became one of my favourite films ever I think. Beautiful, powerful, sad, uplifting, brilliant soundtrack and great performances as well as cinematography. What else can you ask for in a film. Loved every second of it.

Anyone seen Killing Them Softly yet?

hated Into the Wild. Hated it. I found it super boring. Stuff happens, that's it. I think reading the book might have been better (I did not read it though) than watching a movie. How it was nominated for an academy award is beyond me. sorry Bubz. Great cinematography though; and music.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II

actually just called Best Buys near me, they are not having that special. very upset because it's like $24 for each film individually otherwise. I have all the DVDs, but Goldeneye (my favorite one) is too scratched to watch anymore.

SCREW YOU !

Jokes. Film is class though. Could go into details about why I thought it was so good and moving but I can't be arsed to type much right now. Might do a write up about it later and post it in the movie review thread though.

I enjoyed parts of the film but on the whole didn't really connect with it. As mentioned though, the soundtrack is immense.

Well, me not liking 'Into the Wild' is coming from the same guy who loved Crank and wrote a paper on why it was a perfect film.

no one agrees

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II

Lol, I enjoyed Crank while it was on I guess, but wouldn't ever watch it again. It's probably one of the more entertaining Statham movies (that's not saying much though).

I watched The Raid: Redemption last night. Pretty crazy and insanely entertaining. Can't ask for much more from a film like that tbh.

Find the comparisons to Die Hard as far as the best action movie ever go a bit weird though. It's nowhere near the film Die Hard is, it might be more fun while it lasts, but it's got to have more substance than guys fighting and killing each other non-stop for an hour and a half to be a 'great' film though, and Die Hard is a great film. Even The Avengers was probably a better, more rewarding action movie. Not to say I didn't like The Raid, because I did quite a bit, and I'll probably get the DVD. Actually, it's probably unfair to compare it to films like Die Hard or Lethal Weapon because it's a totally different type of action movie I guess.
