That was pretty far-fetched. I guess they were playing up that immortal/human all along story and wanted to do the most over-the-top shit to him possible like throat slit or getting shot multiple times. Surviving that only to die from being a simple fuck pneumonia after falling into the water at the end. I will say most of his fight/action scene were brutally shot with lots of blood which made me cringe. But I wasn't into what they finally did with the character. Still, Hardy did a good job acting. I just impressed he transformed and played such a different character yet again.
Watched Wild At Heart. Genuinely brilliant. It's a crazy twist on the road movie, like Badlands on acid. It might have one of the best openings to a movie ever, and it gets better and better from that point on. Cage and Dern are brilliant, and what starts off as a strange and almost unlikeable couple transforms into a couple you really route for. It's all down to the situations they get into and slowly learning about them through the great character development. The crazy mother is really unlikeable and menacing and makes for a great villain along with all the other supporting characters, most of all Willem Defoe who is amazing in his role as a nutty hitman sent after the couple. The colours and editing rule and the whole film has an amazing atmosphere. It's also like Lynch's tribute to The Wizard Of Oz, and the references and comparisons to that film were really well done, especially when you realize the mother is wearing the witch's shoes. Genuinely really creepy in parts. Great payoff to the whole thing at the end that just confirmed my love for it. The score is crazy and over the top, in fact almost everything was over the top from the performances and the quick bursts of violence to the way it was edited together right from the start, but it just added to it. Oh yeah, and it's really funny too. Absolutely fantastic film.
Finally someone that loves Wild at Heart too, lol. Yeah, it's a master-piece. "My dog barkes some".
Btw, did you watch Eraserhead and Dune, Bubz? I need to re-watch those, but I remember loving it, despite Dune being questionable in quality, lol.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II
Managed to finally see Man on the Moon and it met my already high expectations and then some. Jim Carrey portrayal of Andy Kaufman was great and it almost had an autistic quality about it. I'm not sure if Andy was genuinely like that but it kept things interesting. I was also pleased that it touched on the wrestling part more than I initially thought it did and anytime to see more of Jerry Lawler is time-well spent to me.
Probably going to watch Star Wars for the first time later tonight. I want to get rid the funny looks I get for saying I've been alive for over 20 years and never seen a single Star Wars, Matrix or Lord of the Rings film. What's the best way to go about watching the films? By release date or chronologically?

Be a hipster and support Japanese wrestling. Cactus finally found the effort to post 3 new NJPW reviews. (Updated 15/03)

Nah, only Lynch I've seen is WAH and Mulholland Drive unfortunately. Heard amazing stuff about Eraserhead, Blue Velvet and Inland Empire and really mixed stuff about Dune.

Shit, c'mon Cactus, pull it together man! Release date, easily. Don't even bother watching the last three films, seriously. They're genuinely terrible in almost every way.
Anyway, after The Big Lebowski, Heartbreak Ridge, Blue Velvet and Groundhog Day, I just finished re-watching #5 from my Top 5 favorite movies ever list - The Outlaw Josey Wales. The best western ever, the best anti-western ever, the greatest Clint's performance ever, and so on.

BLUE VELVET! Gee, you need to watch that giant ASAF'NP, dude. Dennis Hopper's performance is amongst the greatest stuff in cinema history. That movie is just mesmerizing, I watched it like zillion times already, lol. The story is as basic as ever, but the style is just so damn enchanting.

Fuckin A, Cac, Man on the Moon is Carrey's best work ever, it made me a Kaufman fan for life, and made me watch his wrestling feuds, lol. Fantastic.
Chronologically.

.....what?
I mean... what? I actually can't understand that unless you've only saw like Diamonds Are Forever and Moonraker out of the other Bonds.
Mission Impossible 1 in particular is a fine, fine movie that I adore but you put it against From Russia With Love? The Living Daylights? Hell even Goldeneye? Nowhere near as good as them. In fact the first Mission Impossible owes alot to the Dalton Bond movies.
Can't remember anything from MI 1. Haven't seen it since I was like, 13 or something. I remember 2 being quite bad, and 3 was actually really good, mostly because it had PSH in it and I haven't seen the last one yet.
MI1 is awesome, I absolutely adore the cold war atmosphere there.
