Yeah he did. I wasn't that keen of the film tbh. Had some good SAMURAI FIGHTING~! in it but that's about it. The last fight lasts almost an hour long, and it really started to grate on me after 20-30 minutes. It's got a decent enough story to lead up to the battle but it's nothing great.

THE RAID is better as far as big fighty action movies go, even though it has pretty much no story.

I don't think is that level of bad but is a mediocre film. The classic freaks elements from miike are good but the movie is too slow for good.

If you want to see Miike (i really doubt it now xD)look at Audition, Gozu, Visitor Q, Ichi The Killer, Agitator and his chapter for Masters Of Horror: Imprint

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II

While you guys are on a trip of various Western & Samurai flicks I'm gonna chime in how I love Scott Pilgrim vs The World. Yeah.

I advocate my movies to be based off of video games and graphic novels + include a random Seinfeld reference. This all all those elements.

Ayers new Cop-Drama End of Watch was pure magic. Can't stop think about it even though I would rate it with a 7.5 at the most.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II

Scott Pilgrim vs The World was alright. I remember getting tired of all the video game shtick towards the end though. Had some genuinely hilarious moments like 'Milk And Egg, Bitch' and 'I'm going to go piss on her'. The Chris Evans cameo was also really funny.

End Of Watch was great. It's full of cliche police drama elements but it manages to make them interesting with the two amazing performances at the center of it and the documentary style of filming.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II

All of it worked for me. Ending did feel a tad underwhelming after he eliminated Gideon. Out comes Nega-Scott only for there to just be a conversation instead of fight. Gets a laugh out of me, but it feels like it took away from the moment he really bested the main villain in the flick.

I'll always love it though. It blew me away the first time I watched it. It made my top 10 for 2010 at least. And that was one of my favorite years for movies. LOTS of really good stuff came out. Oscars was stacked imo. (of course that aired in 2011. you get my point)

BLACK SWAN. See. It always comes around to that.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II

I couldn't finish Scott Pilgrim vs The World. Too much Micheal Cera and too much awfulness (mostly in the form of Micheal Cera, please vanish from the face of the earth after the end of Arrested Development) which is weird because its about stuff I should like.

Re: General Movie Discussion Part II

I've been told I have some Michael Cera qualities. Maybe the hopeless romantic part. But, I'm also too much like Larry David in hating a lot of people/things so imagine a hybrid of both with a dash of Jerry Seinfeld and that's me. Oh wait, movie thread not Cody ego trip time. Fuck.

Scott Pilgrim is great. I'll say that 5 times on one page I guess. I enjoy Michael Cera.
