Writing the ponds off was certainly interesting to say the least. Now I have to wait until Christmas for the next episode

re: Doctor Who (Doctor WHO?) Series 7 Discussion (NO SPOILERS PLEASE)

I'd like to think this is the unseen time period where the Doctor & River have their adventures together (that could conclude with the Christmas episode), just so they can pretty much conclude her story, then bring in JLC for the second half of the season. I know that won't be the case, but I wouldn't mind it because I doubt Moffat has any idea when he'll finish with the cameos from River and bring it full circle.

Spoilers, the episodes aired out of order is the biggest theory.

I know the Tardis can't go back to that time, but couldn't River go back and grab them with her vortex manipulator? That's how she got there in the first place. And couldn't the Doctor pick them up a year or two later? Or maybe I missed something.
Wasn't it explained via it being a fixed point in time? Amy and rory's presence in the past has been fixed, he can't do anything to change/fuck that up.

The Doctor's death was also a fixed point, and he found a loophole for that. If I recall correctly, the tombstone only had their name and age of death, not the year. So couldn't the Doctor continue to visit them a few years down the line and be sure to return them to then? Anyway, it's timey wimey stuff.

Probably for the best. Might as well just sit back and enjoy.

There was also the whole 'if you've read it, it can't be changed' stuff, did he ever read about not visiting them? And yeah, the Doctor cheated his death and it seems no one knows he exists now? (Although, tbf it's not confirmed that's what caused it, but the dalek thing doesn't work as an explanation for the universe). Anyway, looking past those niggles I thought the episode was great.

Everything's really complex as of late. Like I really don't remember enough to understand how last season ended so I just don't think about it. Same with the whole River Song stuff last season.
