I barely ever come down to this section so sorry if this is too early or anything.

The new season of How I Met Your Mother is about a month away, quite excited for this as the show is pretty awesome. I read there are two scripts where one wraps it all up this coming season, and one where it will get extended through season 9.

Looking forward to it, although I was disappointed of the standard of the episodes towards the end of the last series. Still I'd rather it be on than not at all .

I'm looking forward to season 8 as well. I read that the most recent season drew in some of the highest ratings the show has seen, which apparently is rare for a television show that has gone on as long as long as HIMYM has. For this reason alone I don't think they will wrap up the show on season 8, I can see them extending to Season 10 as long as the ratings don't plummet mid season or something. Anyhow, it's about time Ted revealed who his wife is.

Don't get me wrong I like the show, but the premise of it is a little silly. I mean, who tells their kids the entire story of the 8 or 9 years leading up to the moment he met their mother?

I agree. The premise of the show is rather silly, but I guess it was an attempt of wanting to add something a little different to the usual sitcom and give the viewer something to watch for in the long run. I know sitcoms have sub-plots throughout each season and this includes HIMYM, but it's all eventually leading up to the grand reveal, which I hope isn't as underwhelming as I expect it to be. I also think they didn't expect the show to be running for as long as it has, if the show had only run for 2/3 seasons the premise would seem much more plausible, but if they're still drawing high ratings in the 7th season then, why stop?

^It will probably be underwhelming. They are really dragging it out. Season 8 will like revolve around Barney/Robin and Lilly's birth while Ted takes a back seat until the final episode. He's got the starring role to begin with having seen the Season 7 finale but I reckon that won't last

How I Met Your Mother is even worst than WWE right now. I'll watch it (mother) but I know it won't as good as it once as (until season 4~5)

lol it's nowhere near THAT bad. It's not as good as it used to be but it's hard for a sitcom that's gone on as long as HIMYM (160 episodes) to stay as good throughout.

The last 2 seasons have been dragged out with not much happening. Besides Barney being awesome, there's really nothing interesting about the show.
