I really had no issues with Batman or Bane's voices. Was loud and clear for me throughout.

Re: Hope is lost, faith is broken...The Dark Knight Rises - July 20th, 2012 (SPOILERS

I haven't read the Batman comics before watching TDKR but I'm slowly getting into comic books (that's another story).

- I marked out when they revealed that Talia was the one that escaped and that she was Ra's daughter. Had no clue that was coming.
- I also marked out when JGL was Robin as I didn't see that coming either.
- Bane's mask was fucking beast as it made him look really scary. After watching TDKR for the second time, I still had no problem with Bane's voice, it's really not that hard to understand.
- People say hat as an audience we need to know more about Catwoman and whatnot. If Nolan focussed on every single character in depth, then the movie would've run for 4 hours. I thought Catwoman was great.
- JGL is one of my favourite actors (has been for a while now) and I don't think that was his best performance but still very solid.
- Cain made me all emotional and shit. He is a legend.
- Nolan directed an amazing trilogy.
- The soundtrack was perfect. It's currently on my playlist.

I love this movie.

Re: Hope is lost, faith is broken...The Dark Knight Rises - July 20th, 2012 (SPOILERS

Just caught the film last night so I finally got to read through this thread. I agree with a lot of what's been posted already so I won't repeat.

However, I've seen a lot of criticism for the Talia swerve and her character being boring. I've been a big fan of Marion Cotillard for a while now (she's in loads of French films) and until the swerve I was really disappointed with her character. I'd managed to avoid all spoilers until I saw it so it surprised me enough to distract me from Bane's sudden demotion and hasty death.

So, anyway, I was delighted she got to be the main villain in the end. Though mainly just because I fancy the fucking knickers off of her.

I will say, considering Marion Cotillard gave birth literally days before production, she looked pretty great. Unfortunately this was not her best acting but in all fairness her character was way underdeveloped.

Re: Hope is lost, faith is broken...The Dark Knight Rises - July 20th, 2012 (SPOILERS

Saw the movie last night finally and loved every minute of it! I had a feeling JGL would end up doing something "batman" related but I would have rather he ended up as Nightwing instead of Robin, but anythings better than him becoming Batman Beyond . I loved Tom Hardy's Bane as much as I thought I would but I do wish they beefed him up a bit post production, because it was hard to buy him lifting up batman (wearing the expected heavy ass suit) over his head and breaking his back.

As for the some of the plot points, I loved the Talia reveal as I was hoping Cotillard would be playing her, and Bane getting shot at the end in the chest protector gives me hope that his character would still be alive if the next trilogy were to use him.

"Return to me again empty-handed, and I will bathe the starways in your blood."

Thanos is only beaten because he allows himself to be, and he only allows himself to be beaten because, in spite of his ambition to attain ultimate power, he sub-consciously knows that he's not worthy of it.

I hope Nolan releases an extended cut version.

Unfortunately he won't, since he's not Peter Jackson.

I know you stated you love Hardy's portrayal of the Bane character and as you can tell by my avy/sig so do I. His motivation full of malevolence, his brutality in his destruction of Batman & others, his vulnerability towards Talia, his pure conviction in his plan and even his humor ("Thank you" at the stock exchange lol).

Back to Bane's plan for Gotham, he uses the city like the prison, that pit of hell he grew up in. He gives the people that hope, which makes the suffering even worse, especially when you start to realize it's a false hope and there is only first despair and then death to be found. For Bane, destroying Bruce and Gotham right away isn't a punishment severe enough, they shall suffer like he suffered. He parallels this on a more personal level with Bruce. Like Bane says, he is a torturer not only of the body but of the soul, he wants both Bruce Wayne and Gotham to know escape is physically near yet in theory so far away.

The flaw in Bane's plan is that he underestimated the inspiration Batman has had on Gotham. An inspiration that molded John Blake and inspired Jim Gordon, the people who lead the plan to take the city back from Bane. He also underestimated Bruce and his incredible will and determination. And with Batman back, the police finally stand a chance to strike back. Blake and Gordon couldn't do it without the man who inspired hope in them in the first place and Batman couldn't do it alone without the people he inspired. Batman also has an "ace in the hole" (take that Joker!) named Selina Kyle. His faith in her is rewarded, as he is ready to believe in the good in her despite what she did to him. Another one of Bruce's virtues that wins in the end, his faith in people.

A lot of people are shitting on Bane and I don't know why, I thought he was amazing. Absolutely loved his voice, too. TDKR is a lot more mature than the TDK imo and is just as good but in a different way.
