Re: Hope is lost, faith is broken...The Dark Knight Rises - July 20th, 2012 (SPOILERS
TDKR was incredible, glorious, EPIC!
Nolan has completely nailed a perfect end to this series imo. Everything is EPIC - the score, the action, the emotional triggers - all EPIC. Action scenes were excellent and truly make this movie awe-inspiring to watch.
Bane was an excellent choice for a villian. This guy is pure malevolence. There are some particularly violent moments displayed by a man of pure evil which he thinks he's "a necessary evil."
Selina was "intoxicating" as I've read in other reviews and Hathaway nailed the character and made her own interpretation. Her fight scenes were very enjoyable.
JGL character Blake was almost like the heart of Gotham that wouldn't quit beating. Fine choice to cast him. Fox, Alfred and Gordon were as stellar as they ever were. Miranda tied in with the story well. I thought she would have had a fight with Catwoman but I'm alright with her fate.
Speaking of fate, Bale was excellent as Wayne/Batman and his bat voice was better, the fighting is better, and so is the emotion. Freaking loved the scene when he decided not to be TIED DOWN (climbing, flying free with no rope) in the HELL he was in - prison & personal turmoil; accepted that his fears can inspire to empower him). Bruce took a 'leap of faith' to RISE.
No single performance matched Ledger's Joker but this may be the strongest collective performance of the series. The pacing really on point I thought for such a long film. Love the ending.
Yes, this is an EPIC conclusion. I need to see this again.
