Batman hasnt killed anyone since the 50s.

honestly, id rather live in a world where a psychopath billionaire ninja and godlike all seeing, all hearing superman who can punch a hole through the planet cant kill rather than one where they do

I was absolutely stoked when Magog killed Joker. Superheroes with bullshit codes against killing suck.

"Oh, I have a code against killing, but I'll keep letting these sociopaths escape to rape, murder and poison millions, then cap it all off with the chief nemesis of the insane asylum rogue's gallery, Joker, launching nuclear missiles."

Go fuck yourself with that reasoning, Bats and Supes.
The problem isnt the code against killing its the writers who do a story about joker launching nukes

That defeats the purpose of him though, if Batman keeps killing the bad guys, who will he face next? Progressively and progressively more stupid villians who are more and more god like because they have to be stronger than the last guy he beat? Stupid and predictable.

actually its more about his descent into a madman despot who doesnt only kill, but does it for little reason ad eventually eliminates people based on the the assumption they may commit crimes. eventually he put a stop to freedom as a crime prevention method

where would it end?

atleast batman is human. imagine superman unrestrained, the man is basically a God and has the power to enslave the universe

You can still have Joker be a sociopath without going so far as to make him completely irredeemable. Post Killing Joke with rape implications and crippling Bat Girl, then killing Jason Todd, the answer is pretty clear. You have got to kill Joker. Despite this, Batman has even gone so far as to not merely kill Joker but to save his life on multiple occasions, either by stopping people from killing the Joker or by giving him first aid.

Also, I really hate this version of Bane. The costume is bland and the guy is like 5'2''. Batman shouldn't be 8 inches taller than Bane, that is just ridiculous.

Here's a reaction to the movie from someone on IMDb

Spoiler for TDKR reaction:

4 out of 4 stars.

Blows number 1 & number 2 away. Best film since Pan's Labyrinth which was, chronologically, the last great film I have seen. I signed a waiver so I don't want to give up anything except it is incredible and is probably best enjoyed in IMAX form. The Avengers was fast food. This is filet mignon and will most likely generate incredible word of mouth. It's a head scratcher why they aren't getting the reviews going on this film sooner than later. The ending was pretty emotional. Honestly, the word that there are bad reviews out there are, in my opinion, totally bogus because the film obeys all the logic within the world it creates for itself. I found the first two films and Inception were on the overly long side, but this installment uses every moment wisely without any lagging moments that don't contribute to the overall pacing. The acting is superb and Gary Oldman really, really needs to get an Oscar. He deserves it here. The action is spectacular and not recycled. CGI is used sparingly and the real satisfaction you get by the end is from raw emotion due to the writing and performances but I've already said too much. The cinematography is excellent as always however you're not going to see cookie cutter CGI enhanced cliches. You will see things you haven't seen countless times before and that is what's so refreshing about this film. (About Anne's acting): Sexy as hell. I never really paid attention to her as an actress in the past but I will now. Michelle Pfeiffer be damned! The music was fine. I've never really paid attention to the soundtracks of the first two films to be honest. Nolan's brilliance is that he doesn't let CGI or booming music or ANYTHING take centre stage over the story and characterizations. I can't give any further details on this film other than it is a helluva movie! A perfect masterpiece. It would be something to see the third entry in a trilogy win Best Picture. I hated Bane as much as I hated Clarence Boddiker in Robocop!

and a Washington Post article with Oscar talk!

Spoiler for Washington Post TDKR article:

Link - http://www.washingtonpost.com/nation...GdW_story.html

Quote:
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. — It’s a good thing Batman dresses in black. He could be a popular guy on Hollywood’s black-tie circuit come Academy Awards season.

“The Dark Knight Rises” probably has the best chance ever for a superhero film to rise into the best-picture mix at February’s Oscars. The film is the last in a celebrated trilogy that elevated comic-book movies to operatic proportion, and Hollywood likes sending finales out with a lovely door-prize (Peter Jackson’s first two “Lord of the Rings” films were Oscar also-rans before the trilogy’s conclusion won best picture).

It has the weight and scope — and then some — of 2008’s “The Dark Knight,” the “Batman Begins” sequel whose snub in the best-picture field helped prod the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to expand the category to more than five nominees.

And in the snub department, academy voters are not likely to forget that Batman boss Christopher Nolan, one of modern Hollywood’s true innovators, has yet to be nominated for best director. So there could be an “oops, sorry about that” sheepishness among Oscar types working in both Nolan’s and the film’s favor.

Nolan doesn’t feel snubbed that “The Dark Knight” was overlooked for best picture or that he missed out on a directing nomination for that one and his 2010 thriller “Inception,” a best-picture nominee. He actually sees a one-of-a-kind honor in the way his films have played out over Oscar season.

“Look, the idea, the fact that people have talked about ‘The Dark Knight’ as being a key reason why the academy changed their rules and expanded the field is just a huge honor for the film, in a weird way,” Nolan said.

The rules now allow for as many as 10 best-picture contenders. Opening next week, “The Dark Knight Rises” may just speak for itself as a work of high costume drama — albeit superhero costumes — that’s worthy of show business’ highest honors, no matter how many nominees there are.

The film is gorgeous, sharply written, briskly paced despite an epic running time approaching three hours. The characters have depth and pathos, and the drama feels far richer than the usual hero-saving-the-world saga. The action reflects our own hard times as a masked terrorist lays siege to the masses in a sort of perverse Occupy Gotham City movement that pits the comic-book world’s 99 percenters against the rich and rapacious.

“I’m not saying this as a cast member. I’m saying this as a member of the academy. So far, it’s the best film I’ve seen all year,” said Anne Hathaway, who plays master thief Catwoman in “The Dark Knight Rises.” ‘’He’s transcended the genre now. I think he’s shown that a comic-book movie can actually be epic, extraordinary cinema.”

So that’s one Oscar vote already from past best-actress nominee Hathaway. Round up the rest of Nolan’s key cast and the film’s got even more academy backers: four Oscar winners — Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Marion Cotillard and Batman himself, Christian Bale — and another longtime awards season oversight, Gary Oldman, who finally got his first nomination last season.

it's not revealing, and it's nice to read.

I don't want Batman 3 or Nolan to get an oscar nod just because he didn't get one for TDK. Oscars are fucking stupid anyways, anyone see 'The Artist', absolute shit.
