Just wanted to say thanks for the inspiration BUBZ. I was trying to figure out a cooler topic title than just "Oh hey guys, Batman is coming out in a few weeks...talk about it here"

batman doesnt kill. and no matter who the person is, batman will do everything in his power to save that person. everyone is worth it

He let a lot of Ra's' people (including FAKE RA'S) die in the fire, iirc. He saved Ra's then, and brought the consequence of it back to Gotham. I imagine that played a part in his decision to not make the same mistake twice.

We have to remember that this was when Batman was just becoming Batman, when he was just coming to terms with "It's not who you are inside, but what you do that matters."

I was okay with Batman "letting Ras die" because in my mind since it was his first adventure, he probably felt awful about it afterwards and thus adopted his One Rule.

This is a way better argument than what I was thinking of. I don't think Nolan would make an error like that tbh, there was obviously a reason why he let Ra's die.

I just moved to France and am currently manically searching for a cinema that will show it with the original voices and French subtitles. No joy so far, but I'm told they do do it for the big US films.

Fucking foreigns, man. I picked the wrong summer to move.

About the film, I'm led to believe from the trailers that Batman has been out of action since defeating the Joker, but Batman Begins ended with the introduction of the Joker.

So that would mean Batman only fought Ra's, Scarecrow, Joker and now Bane in his entire career. What happened to stalking the dark streets, hanging around on rooftops and fighting random crooks? He must have done all that between Ra's and Joker, but he always had his hands full with them.

Just something that occurred to me. Maybe I've missed something.
