I agree with this. Loved the two films but to me they just didn't feel very... Bond-ish (at least from the movies, they were a lot closer to the books). They were way too serious, and no crazy car chases, gadgets and henchmen. What happened to the guy with the claw for an arm and the midget and Jaws and the pair of gay lover assassins?
...Alright I can see why some people might be glad things have taken a more serious note but I think they've done a bit too much. Plus like I was saying, none of the villains have been particularly memorable. Great films... they just don't feel like Bond films, especially when compared to the rest in the series.
I'm still completely stoked for Skyfall of course. Will hopefully be catching the midnight release.

Re: This November, Skyfall is coming.
Thats the appeal of Goldfinger. That movie was the shift to the more absurd after the previous bond films. Why it damaged the realism and seriousness of the bond movies, it made them much more 'fun'
Until moonraker showed up....

I am sure he meant $20 for each individual movie.

I'm kinda the opposite of you guys then. I mean I can appreciate some goofiness that comes along with a Bond flick but a large part of the reason I don't care for Roger Moore, or the movies he starred in was they had too much hammy acting and goofiness. I'm fine with the recent, more serious Bond flicks. Casino Royale was my favorite non-Connery Bond flick to date and well Quantum had Olga Kurylenko (love her) to look at at least.

Re: This November, Skyfall is coming.
The only Bonds I like are Connery and Craig.
The rest, not saying I didn't like the actual movies, but them as Bond, nah. My dad likes Moore the best. I don't like him at all. Timothy Dalton is the worst, though. Such a boring actor.

Re: This November, Skyfall is coming.
It's funny I grew up preferring Moore over all Bonds. I guess I liked his silliness (and that mole). Now my favorite is Craig; kind of the opposite. I kind of find all Bonds to have the same amount of humor in their movies, just they go about it a different way. Moore was kind of slapsitck funny, Connery was a sexy funny, Craig is "I'm a bad-ass" funny, George Lazenby tried to morph Connery and Moore together to be like a play boy and failed (thus only 1 movie), Dalton didn't do much except for drive a tractor trailer on 2 wheels (and have the 2 ugliest Bond girls of all the films).
I also don't think Moore and Dalton are very good actors in general. Connery was a pretty decent actor and had other successful films. Craig is a great actor (which can be argued if you'd like) who has done multiple great movies, even during the time of being bond.

Re: This November, Skyfall is coming.
Timothy Dalton was pretty awesome in Hot Fuzz to be fair.

I forgot Pierce Brosnan as well. Good actor and good bond; but Mamma Mia...

Lazenby actually had one of the better Bond movies. On Her Majesty's Secret Service was a great movie (imo). As Bond....I dunno, he wasn't a horrible actor, but I don't think he really filled the Bond shoes well...like, he was just some random guy with the name James Bond, as opposed to the majority of Bond actors who you could look at and say 'yeah, he is Bond', if you get what I mean.

Funny you say that because I do find him better in random roles, just not as Bond. He was a bland Bond.
