Just read the IGN review. They (and other reviews I've seen) are saying not only is it the best Craig era film, not only one of the best Bond films ever...but possibly the best Bond film ever.

I was looking forward to it before but I'm sure like a lot of people were holding in expectations due to how disappointing Quantum of Solace was. I cannot wait for this movie now. Gebu, want to cosplay with me to the midnight showing? You can be Pussy Galore and I can be Honey Rider.

So I'm actually looking forward to this now after the first batch of reviews. I usually can't stand Bond movies, literally don't think I've seen one I enjoyed apart from Casino Royale whcih was good, which I guess makes Craig the best Bond for me (haven't read the books). Watch you all HATE me now for saying that .

will now rank 007 best to worst with my favorite films next to them.

1.) Daniel Craig - He's not a pretty boy (James Bond in the books wasn't either), but he doesn't need to be because he has the one trait that makes him the best from the rest, even Connery: INTENSITY! [Casino Royale]

2.) Sean Connery - All the men wanted to be like and all the women wanted to be with. He made wanting to be a government spy cool. He was truly one of a kind. [From Russia With Love]

3.) Pierce Brosnan - His films were hit or miss and he was a bit too smug at times, but he is underrated now. He was very much like Connery. Tough, suave, and believable all at once. [The World Is Not Enough]

4.) Timothy Dalton - He was a good Bond, but my problem is he was too damn serious. Even the guys above him would crack a joke once in awhile to lighten the mood. [License To Kill]

5.) Roger Moore - I couldn't stand him. He did seven films and I only liked one of them. Had he cared about the source material and played Bond seriously throughout his tenure instead of treating everything like it was one big joke because it was just a paycheck to him, he would be much higher on my list. 6.) George Lazenby - He had potential even after being given the unfortunate task of trying to fill Connery's shoes, but unfortunately he was dumb enough to give up the role after one movie and that makes him the forgotten Bond and he deserves to be an afterthought.

Octapussy is easily the worst Bond movie imo, but Moonraker follows it closely. Actually, all of the Roger Moore films are fucking awful.

I still maintain the worst Bond movie is Thunderball, don't think I've ever managed to watch it in one full sitting ever. I enjoy Octopussy, compared to Moonraker or A View To A Kill it's a damn good film, sure parts of it are daft (Roger Moore being hunted by the villain riding an elephant) but some scenes are amongst the best the series has produced (I seriously adore Bond dressed as a clown trying to get the audience to take him seriously).

@Vic I'm suprised you liked World is Not Enough over Goldeneye. As a kid I loved Goldeneye an hated World is Not Enough; as I got older, I guess things changed and now I really like World is not Enough. But Goldeneye is better IMO

and I'm now positive (after watching it on TV today) that Die Another Day is the worst bond. Intentionally made to be horrible yet sell out? possibly. Worst than Batman And Robin? Possibly. Worst James Bond ever? Yes.

That scene sums up Roger Moore's contribution to the franchise perfectly.

Goldeneye is overrated. It's good. Not great. Yes, it re-invented the franchise and offers a lot of intrigue and depth, but it has pacing issues even with all its action scenes.

I think my main problem with the movie is Alec Trevelyan. While I love Sean Bean to death, his character's motives were convoluted and there just simply isn't enough screentime (zero flashbacks) to make his past friendship with Bond believable. Oh, and him surving the fall was stupid.

Even though Christmas Jones is one of the worst Bond girls, The World Is Not Enough I felt brought stronger content (the amazing boat chase at the beginning, Q's farewell, the twist with Elektra, the focus of the movie being on M) plus you have Pierce giving his best performance as 007 IMO.

Die Another Day is actually a good movie for the first half. Once Bond gets to Iceland, it goes downhill from there by turning into a science fiction movie.

How so? A well acted, tense scene based around Bond having to stealthily sneak into a building to stop a minorly realistic (downgrade nuke to normal bomb) threat is certainly not normal Moore.

Btw, which is the one where Moore is hanging on to the ladder of a fire engine when it's driving? Because that's ridiculous, but it's always a scene I remember. That, and him running across the crocodiles .
