Considering it hasn't been screened anywhere, don't believe everything you hear.

Re: FILM OF THE YEAR 2012
Chronicle is the best movie I've watched this year so far, haven't seen Avengers yet going to see it tomorrow, but I my money is on The Dark Knight Rises as being the best movie of 2012.

Re: FILM OF THE YEAR 2012
I thought Woman In Black was a decent modern day horror film. I did go in not wanting to watch it at all though and with incredibly low expectations, probably why I thought it was decent.

Re: FILM OF THE YEAR 2012
I thought it was the opposite of generic. Patient building of scares, brilliant use of mise en scene, amazing special effects for the budget and an engrossing story. It's not the masterpiece I thought it was on first showing but I still think it's the best horror film released probably since Dark Water.

Crikey, that's like asking Warren Beatty how many women he slept with in the sixties. I'll just list the stuff I really enjoyed (8/10 or higher):
Dark Water
Shutter
Eden Lake
I saw the Devil
The Descent
The Strangers
Let the Right One In
May
Mist
Bedevilled
The Orphanage
Orphan
Them
Paranormal Activity
Wolf Creek
Shutter Island
Saw
Frontiers
The Others
28 Days Later
Creep
Dead Snow
The Hills have Eyes
The Children
Dog Soldiers
The Cell
Frailty
Dawn of the Dead
The Devil's Backbone
Final Destination
Trick R Treat
Wrong Turn
What lies Beneath
Fido
Slither
Stuff I enjoyed but thought were overrated:
Cloverfield
Switchblade Romance
Audition
The Host
Drag me to Hell
Session 9
The Grudge
A tale of two sisters
The Eye
Identity
Chasing Sleep
Stuff I still need to see:
Martyrs
Inside
Rec
Mr Brooks
If you can think of any others you would reccomend, let me know. I'm always on the lookout.

This, though I think TDKR may just shade it.
