Burton's animated stuff, Bettlejuice, and Big Fish are better than everything else.

Well, yeah he is, but I don't really get the comparison between the two. You could name any decent director there and I'd agree though.

Re: FILM OF THE YEAR 2012

I actually struggled to pick one for FOTY, even Avengers disappointed me considering the hype around it. May need to re-watch it though. I'd probably say Looper was FOTY. It's not that it was a classic movie by any means but it had some clever ideas and was enjoyable throughout.

Forgot about Ed Wood. I like ES, but not more than his others.

It's a shame what he's become because I really do love his older works, but not so much is later stuff. Haven't seen Dark Shadows yet, but I want too.

As for Dominik only watched one of his films: Chopper - Which I fucking adore, love it to death. Great performance from Eric Bana as the lead. Total nutjob. Shoots a guy and takes him to the hospital...

I love Big Fish. Burton is a great director, not one of my favorites but I do love several of his films. Big Fish is very underrated, great cast and story and Albert Finney is one of the most underrated actors of all time.

Re: FILM OF THE YEAR 2012

I take back my vote on whatever it was and place it on Django Unchained. Just saw it today and wow, that was the most fun I've had watching a movie in a long time.
