Trying to be the most objective possible, at least from what i saw, yes. But i haven't see stuff like Ted, Cloud Atlas or blockbusters i know will probably be horrible so can't speak for that.

Looper, Prometheus and The dark knight rises are just convoluted shit, too much stuff without solution, movies trying to convey everything they can, to finally say nothing at the end. At least if you wanna be fun, be fun without complex or desperately trying to play "reality", but if you wanna be complex and philosophical and shit be better. In the case of Nolan is worse because he can't even do a shoot good without dialogue.

Beasts, Amour, and Pieta are trap movies with moral discourses that at least to me seems wrong so i can't aprove them

Skyfall is just a mess, i don't have a good opinion of Mendes but at least he seems a decent option for a most methodical and dramatic Bond, specially because one of the stuff everyone was criticizing from the last 2 movies was the excess of action and ridiculous things going on. But here there is even more stuff happening for minute wich is worse because is obvious that this doesn't suit Mendes at all

Dark Shadows is the shadow of a former good filmmaking playing with CGIs

Edit: And is not a thing against Hollywood or anything, i really believe that stuff like the 3 Stooges were good and Avengers was at least decent

Edit 2: i don't know why but i remember now that i haven't see Argo either and i wanted to see it.... weird

I definitely think Looper was really overrated. I've said it before but I'll say it again that I can see why people hate TDKR and Prometheus was bad. Skyfall was good imo, but again I found it to be really overrated. I really think if it wasn't for the 'James Bond' name attached to it, it wouldn't be so highly thought of, because there isn't anything in it that's better than anything else this year from a film-making stand point. Not saying it was bad btw, because I did enjoy it quite a lot while it was on.

Amour was a very tough watch, it didn't shy away from anything and I can see someone hating it for being so depressing etc, but it's a very well made film and something that could effect people in huge way emotionally, but it didn't have that effect with me at all, it was almost too matter of fact and too un-sentimental to get an emotional reaction out of me.

Can't comment on Dark Shadows because I didn't see it and will never see it because Burton is a hack .

Beasts' is my film of the year though, I found it incredibly moving, the visuals were great, the performance from the little girl is astounding (she's 5 years old). Loved the themes and the dream-like/imaginary state of everything. I honestly thought it was a masterpiece.

For a hack, Burton is doing pretty damn good right now at the box office, considering he's made more money than even Peter Jackson. To each his own I guess.

As for Looper, meh. Just couldn't get into it.

Seeing someone say TDKR or Skyfall was shit is hilarious to me....but Chronicle was great? Jesus Christ.

Just because Burton does well at the box office doesn't mean he's good. He isn't good. At all. And imo he never has been.

Burton's biggest box office hit is also one of his worst: Alice In Wonderland. I still really enjoy his older pieces, Batman, Bettlejuice, Scissorhands, Nightmare(Even though he didn't direct it) etc.. I even enjoyed Big Fish and Mars Attacks.

Burton is good/great until Sleepy Hollow.

And Chronicle is a movie with a good sense of the action, seems more a De Palma movie than a blockbuster wich is good, is also honest. So yeah, obviously i will like it

Burton is overrated. An average director at best. Andrew Dominik is a lot better.
