Re: Best James Bond movie?

Even though Roger Moore was my least favorite portrayal of Bond, LIVE AND LET DIE is my favorite in the series. Not to mention, Baron Samedi was the creepiest Bond villian of all time.

Re: Best James Bond movie?

trying to rank them in order, always find this hard b/c i could switch my middle bunch a lot. Anyway...

1. Goldfinger
2. From Russia With Love
3. Casino Royale
4. Goldeneye
5. The Spy Who Loved Me
6. License To Kill
7. You Only Live Twice
8. Live and Let Die
9. The Living Daylights
10. Tomorrow Never Dies
11. Thunderball
12. On Her Majesty's Secret Service
13. Dr No
14. Man With The Golden Gun
15. Diamonds Are Forever
16. World is Not Enough
17. For Your Eyes Only
18. Quantum of Solace
19. Octopussy
20. Die Another Day
21. A View To a Kill
22. Moonraker

I really hope they can remake a Bond film similar in plot/idea to the man with the golden gun except make it a lot better. The idea of Bond having an advesary that is equal to, if not better, his own skill hunting after him is something that can definitely work in a Craig-Bond era.

Re: Best James Bond movie?

I think the newer films catch too much flak. Whereas previous Bond characters just seemed to be there, Craig seems to have a purpose and it really drives the two films he's been in. Watching Casino & Quantum, I was actually interested to see what his character would be like.

Re: Best James Bond movie?

My ranking for the Bond actors goes like this - Dalton, Connery, Brosnan, Moore, Craig & Lazenby

Can't rank them all but I'd say the best films are (in no order), Goldfinger, From Russia With Love, Goldeneye, Living Daylights and Spy Who Loved Me.

Majesty's Secret Service would be up there if a better actor had played Bond.

I despise Quantum Of Solace, it just felt like... nothing at all happened. Casino Royale's decent but isn't a real Bond movie in my eyes. Craig is good though.

I like Roger Moore, he's goofy as shit but he does some great serious acting too (Shit like him killing the assassin on top of the building in Spy Who Loved Me) I actually like all the Moore Bond movies apart from For Your Eyes Only, but I really need to rewatch that, own the boxset and shit just never felt an urge to rewatch it these past 8 years.

Re: Best James Bond movie?

I think Moore is the worst (other than maybe Lazenby since I haven't seen his movie) Bond. I think he covers the swag parts of the Bond character well but can't buy him kicking any ass.

And how bad is Moonraker if people are putting Die Another Day above it. D.A.D. was so bad after the opening 10 minutes.

Re: Best James Bond movie?

Moonraker is awesome. People just take this shit a bit too seriously.

I don't buy any of the actors playing Bond as ass kickers. They're all as believable as William Shatner as Capt. Kirk.

Re: Best James Bond movie?

Moonraker is a fine film as long as you're ok with laser guns and Jaws having a romantic interest.

Gadgets were cool, Hugo Drax was a good villain. Some parts, like Bond in the centrifuge go on a bit long but its a good film, in that cheesy 70s way.

Die Another Day on the other hand just goes to hell after Bond leaves Korea.
